The Razer BlackShark V2

Razer BlackShark V2 Review: Airy Feel, Quality Sound

A more versatile fish

Lightweight feel ; Loud, isolating audio ; Extensive tweaking options ; USB Type-A or 3.5mm ; Mic blocks out background noise

Can feel cheaper than it is at first

Razer's latest cans are so comfortable, you just might forget you're wearing them. The BlackShark V2 is more versatile than its predecessor in terms of design and features, but we expected more from its virtual surround sound features.

Razer BlackShark V2 Gaming Headset review

Razer's newest esports headset, software leads the way to nuanced sound

50mm Triforce Drivers deliver clear, dynamic sound ; Audio enhancements for both the speakers and mic ; Affordable ; Light

Earcup covering feels scratchy ; Plastic frame and wire forks could be more durable

The Razer BlackShark VR Gaming headset delivers clean, robust audio at an affordable price, but the barebones design is a little uncomfortable.

The Razer BlackShark V2 and BlackShark V2 X are made for gamers at all levels. The BlackShark V2 is made to be the “definitive esports gaming headset” while the “X” version …

Extremely comfortable for long periods of time ; Sound tuning with Razer software ; Detachable USB sound card ; Detachable high-end mic ; Passive sound cancellation is surprisingly nice

Doesn't (yet) come in Slime Green ; Sound cancellation only passive

Razer BlackShark V2 Review

The Razer BlackShark V2 are wired gaming headphones with a similar look and feel to the Razer BlackShark V2 X, but come with lots more customization features. Th...

Detachable boom microphone. Software has 10-band graphic EQ. Comfortable fit. Good stability. Decently neutral sound reproduction. Adjustable microphone settings.

Only decent leakage performance. USB sound card not compatible with Xbox One or Xbox Series X. Poor noise isolation performance. Can't be used wirelessly. Not very portable. Inconsistent bass and treble delivery. Disappointing controls.

The Razer BlackShark V2 are good for neutral sound. They can accurately reproduce thump and punch as well as vocals and lead instruments, thanks to their neutral bass and mid ranges. However, sibilants like cymbals may sound a bit lifeless or dull....
