We've tried on the Dyson Zone air-purifying, ANC headphones. Are they the future?

Purifies the air you breathe ; Active noise cancelling ; Will monitor the air around you ; Visor is detachable ; Replaceable filters

Bulky design ; Heavy to wear ; Requires plenty of confidence

We’re still very much in the prototype stage here, with no price or release date in sight, but we can certainly see people wearing this if it solves the problem of pollution in urban areas.

Dyson Zone review

The Zone headphones have built-in air purification technology, an impressive feat of engineering in a product very few people should seriously consider.

Well-made headphones ; Excellent audio quality ; Top-notch ANC performance ; Long battery life for audio

Bulky and heavy ; Some design flaws ; Very expensive ; Socially awkward

While the Dyson Zone are remarkable in many ways, not all of them are positive and for the vast majority of people, they will be simply too big, costly, embarrassing and unnecessary.

The Dyson Zone headphones try to offer high-fidelity audio alongside highly-filtered air, but they needed more polish.

Dyson Zone review: This is not what I expected

The Dyson Zone air-purifying and noise-canceling headphones look awesome and feel futuristic, but they lack enough practicality on the average day for most people.

However, If you ask me, the answer is greater action against air pollution and burning fossil fuels, so that we don’t get to the point of needing to breathe through something like the Dyson Zone in the first place.
