Corsair HS60 Haptic Review: Rumble for Your Ears

A solid mid-priced gaming headset with a novel twist

Haptic audio is very immersive ; Solidly built ; Very comfortable and lightweight ; Quality stereo or virtual surround audio

Cable can get tangled easily ; Mic audio clips often ; Polarizing camo design

The Corsair HS60 Haptic provides the build quality users have come to expect from the brand, even if you don’t appreciate the camouflage design. The gaming headset’s hallmark haptic feedback feature successfully adds a very cool boost to immersion.

Corsair's HS60 Haptic headset massages your stressed-out skull

A few years ago I tried out Razer's Nari Ultimate, a haptic headset that rumbles along with your music and games. I was not a fan. The feeling of something moving on my head was unsettling, and it didn't really enhance the experience for me. I put the...

Would I have felt this positive about the HS60 Haptic in a year where I wasn’t constantly stressed out and could go to the movies as often as I wanted? I don’t really know. Corsair certainly wasn’t planning on a pandemic when it designed the HS60, just...

Corsair's HS60 Haptic gaming headset is ready to rumble

A far more expensive version of Corsair's $70 HS60 Pro 7.1 surround USB gaming headset -- though it's only $50 at the moment -- the $130 (£120, AU$200) HS60 Haptic throws the extra dough at an expanded frequency range that makes the earcups vibrate....

Corsair's basic iCue software lets you adjust volume and equalizer parameters for the audio and sidetone amount (to hear yourself talk) for the mic. The left earcup has a volume wheel and mute button; the latter is a little flush with the surface, but...

There's no lighting on the headset.

HS60 Haptic is a pretty standard gaming headset: comfortable memory foam cushions, not too heavy (though not lightweight at 14.8oz/420g), detachable noise-cancelling microphone, with decent sound from its 50mm neodymium drivers and reasonable quality...

Corsair HS60 HAPTIC Stereo Gaming Headset Review

The Corsair HS60 HAPTIC Stereo Gaming Headset is wired-only with a haptic bass slider. Out-of-the-box, these headphones have a bass-heavy sound profile that adds...

Graphic EQ and presets. Impressive microphone recording quality. Comfortable fit.

Sub-par frequency response consistency. Leak some noise. Not stable enough for exercise. Poor noise isolation. Not very portable.

The Corsair HS60 HAPTIC are inadequate for mixed usage. These gaming-oriented headphones have an impressive recording quality, so you can easily communicate with your teammates. However, they have poor noise isolation, so you may be distracted by...

Corsair HS60 Haptic review

The Corsair HS60's focus on bass is a striking contrast with most treble-heavy gaming headsets, and it's quite comfortable, too.

are $100 USB gaming headsets that offer great performance and good sound — but also not a ton of bass, particularly for music. The Corsair HS60 Haptic may very well be worth its premium price, if you want music and games to really resonate.

Corsair is already very well known for making quality gaming headsets and peripherals. With such success behind its name, the company isn't shy about stepping outside the box and trying new things. I respect that, as innovation drives the market, which...

I believe the vibration technology inside the HAPTIC is the future of gaming headsets. While it might be a little rough around the edges now, I can see many, many gaming headsets in the future adapting this technology in one way or another. The HAPTIC...

Most of the flaws of the HAPTIC are in its design. The fact that the headset says microphone on/off was very annoying and also cycling through the EQ presets seemed pretty barebones. Another personal complaint of mine was the lack of clamping pressure,...

Corsair's HS60 HAPTIC very well could be the future of gaming headsets. The HAPTIC lets you feel sound, adding a whole new level of immersion to your gameplay. It is simply a must-try.
