Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones UC 700 review

The excellent Bose 700 series noise-cancelling headphones now have enhanced connectivity via unified communications (UC) technology.

Outstanding noise cancellation Terrific design Simple to use

Cost even more than before

The Bose 700 series headphones are a high-quality solution, and the UC dongle makes them even easier to deploy, but it doesn’t make it any cheaper. The Sony WH-1000XM3 still offers much better battery life for significantly less outlay.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 review

These brilliant Bose headphones pip the competition in terms of noise-cancelation, but they don't beat the Sony WH-1000XM3's sound quality.

Outstanding noise cancelation Fun, lively sound Stunning design

Battery life could be better More expensive than the Sony WH-1000XM3s

These brilliant Bose headphones offer class-leading noise cancellation and sound great, but they don't quite beat the Sony WH-1000XM3's in terms of battery life and price. Still, you can't go wrong with this fantastic pair of over-ear headphones.

Hands on: Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 review

The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are set to change the headphone game, representing a potential rival for the enormously popular Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Headphones . As well as Sony, Bose is one of the go-to brands for the best noise-canceling...

Sleek, attractive design Advanced noise-canceling tech Balanced sound

Pricey Light build can feel cheap

Although it’s too early to say definitively, these advanced headphones from Bose could eclipse its QuietComfort range, and perhaps even take the top spot of best noise-canceling headphones from Sony.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 review

Improved wireless and noise cancelling, but the same sonic ability

Next-gen noise-cancellation ; Comfortable and stylish ; Crystal-clear, upfront sound ; Intuitive touch controls

Lack class-leading insight ; Rivals have better battery life ; Expensive

Impressive noise-cancelling and design, but imperfect sound quality doesn’t justify the significant outlay

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 review: Bose is the ANC boss

The 2019 active noise-cancelling cans from Bose are a step above the QC35 II. Improved comfort, multi-level ANC and beam-form voice isolation feature.

Incredible multi-level noise-cancelling technology ; Touch controls on right earcup are a cinch to use ; Powerful sound quality and impactful low-end ; Comfortable design - even for long periods of wear

Non-folding design may put some off ; No equaliser (EQ) within the app ; There's now a lot of competition - such as the Sony WH-1000M3 ; The name is a bit excessive

Bose is boss when it comes to noise-cancelling headphones and the 700 is proof of that. With a much higher degree of build quality, comfort and ANC adjustment compared to the QC35 II model, along with impressive sound and battery life, we struggle to...

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 review

Make your voice heard

Great new design ; Noise cancelling is as brilliant as ever, and now fully customisable ; Peerless voice pickup ; Excellent voice assistant support ; Let you pair two devices simultaneously

Not quite as comfortable as the QC35 IIs ; Buggy app ; Sony’s WH-1000XM3 are cheaper and sound better

There are superior sounding headphones out there, but as an all-rounder the 700s are hard to beat

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700

Bose strikes back in the noise cancelling wars with the Headphones 700. But if you come for the king you best not miss, and app irritations stop these from claiming Sony's crown.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 review: less business, more modern design

Same Bose magic now sleeker, with better controls, calling and adaptable noise cancelling

brilliant user-adjustable noise cancelling, best-in-class ambient sound, best-in-class voice calling, great sound, excellent controls, good battery life, multi-point connectivity, comfortable, USB-C, enhanced Google Assistant support

expensive, no aptX etc, bugs with PC connectivity, don’t fold

The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 mark a shift for the company, attempting to diverge from a perception of being bought by business travellers towards a design-led luxury offering with a £350 price tag to match.
