Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra

Despite a good specification, these buds have a flat and lifeless delivery

Very good spec; microphone and remote

Flat delivery; no sonic thrills; plays it too safe

Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra mZx606 review

With their idiosyncratic earpiece design, the Muzx Ultra mZx606 in-ears look like tiny black pistols firing music directly into your brain.

Female vocals were clear, with good clarity on the singer's enunciation, and there was a pleasing rendering of some fire effects. Classical piano was also a triumph, allowing the ear to separate out the different dubs of the piano and producing a...

Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra review

The Muzx Ultra are Altec Lansing's high-end earbuds. They promise a perfect fit and zero background noise.

The Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra earbuds are a great buy if you're after a pair of noise-cancelling earphones. Better value still for iPod, iPad and iPhone users, an inline remote means you won't need to pull out your player from bag or pocket to control it.

Tiny Speakers or Earbuds : X-mini Sound Beyond Size & Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra

I remember getting these tiny speakers early last summer but for a multitude of reasons it was 2011 before they got tested. The earbuds are from Altec Lansing more normally known for their speakers so a good match?

As a 10cm long egg shape with the sound coming from end it would provide perfectly respectable sound from a PC. Once charged the speakers are said to have enough power to keep playing for up to 12 hours

Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra

Altec Lansing's stylish, top-of-the-line earbuds do a good job of blocking out background noise but they're not cheap

Good fit; crisp sound; blocks out most background noise; inline remote

Not cheap

The Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra earbuds are a great buy if you’re after a pair of noise-cancelling earphones. Better value still for iPod, iPad and iPhone users, an inline remote means you won't need to pull out your player from bag or pocket to control it.

Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra earphones review

The Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra earphones sit at a tricky price point. At £99.99, they're too pricey for an impulse buy and are up against ace rivals from the big boys of high-end portable audio, including Shure, Ultimate Ears, Etymotic and Sennheiser....

Mature, detailed and accurate sound, interesting looks, includes mic and volume control

Won't provide enough bass for boomhounds, clever cable design will backfire in the wrong hands

They may have fewer drivers than some, and an odd-looking design, but the Muzx Ultra earphones can still go head-to-head with the top dogs

Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra MZX606 earbuds review

We've always had a soft spot for Altec Lansing's wide array of speaker docks -- these guys have been embedded in that space for an awfully long time, and

Nice anti-bend cable design ; Inline remote for iPhone users ; Accurate highs and mids

Hardly any bass to speak of ; Limited, huge eartip selection ; Odd remote placement

Review: Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra MZX606

Balanced armatures are a relatively rare treat in an under-$100 model like Altec Lansing's Muzx Ultra MZX606. The Muzx Ultra is a slick little design with a neat strain relief on the cable and an iPhone-compatible inline volume control/microphone. A...
