Magellan Maestro 4700 GPS Review

Magellan One Touch interface is handy ; Excellent POI handling with built-in AAA tour book ; Big, 4.7-inch screen

Voice-recognition feature is poorly implemented

This premium GPS device packs plenty of features, but you can find many of them on lower-cost products, too.

Magellan Maestro 4700

Magellan's Maestro 4700 isn't all that great at listening to voice commands, but it's a solid navigator in most other respects.

Responsive touch screen. Detailed voice prompts. Fast route recalculations. Handy "Find Your Car" feature helps you locate your vehicle in a crowded parking lot.

Inconsistent voice recognition. Takes a long time to lock location. A little buggy.

Review: Magellan Maestro 4700 GPS

This premium GPS device packs plenty of features, but you can find many of them on lower-cost products, too.

The Maestro 4700 has an impressive list of features. You get a larger-than-normal, 4.7-inch screen; maps for the United States (all 50 states), Canada, and Puerto Rico; a database of 6 million points of interest; highway-lane-assist signs;...

Magellan Maestro 4700

The Magellan Maestro 4700 has a 4.7 inch touchscreen, voice commands, Bluetooth for hands-free cell phone use, lane guidance, 3D landmarks and AAA TourBook. In other words, it's loaded.

Stepping down to the Magelan Maestro 4370 you’ll drop to a 4.3″ screen and lose voice commands, but you'll gain the live traffic feature.

Magellan Maestro 4700 Portable GPS
