TomTom VIA 180 GPS unit

TomTom VIA 180 review: A mid-range GPS with IQ Routes and safety camera notifications

IQ Routes, points of interest, safety camera alerts, lane guidance, hands-free operation

Not set to metres by default, map display sometimes got confusing even in places with a clear view of the sky, screen not always responsive

TomTom Via 180

Pretty, but flawed. Somehow the recent software has nixed the camera alerts and made a decent GPS less so.

Slim and slick ; Refreshed look for the interface ; Speedy route calculation

Voice recognition is more miss than hit ; Latest software upgrade has removed camera alerts ; MyTomTom PC software is a retrograde step

Pretty, but flawed. Somehow the recent the software has nixed the camera alerts and made a decent GPS less so.
