TomTom Start 20 review

  (Rating Hidden)

The TomTom Start 20 is one of the older sat navs we've tested. It's got a compact 4.3-inch screen, making it portable and unobtrusive. But how does it compare with newer or larger models when it comes to the basics of good navigation? And can this...

A budget range GPS with all the basic features you need

The TomTom Start 20 Southern Africa edition GPS may be a budget oriented device, but it delivers a comprehensive set of features that will actually be used in day to day operation. The only noteworthy feature missing from this device is HD traffic...

TomTom Start 20

Satellite navigation devices have had a tough time of late, with smartphones offering all the same features for free, without having to carry another gadget around. TomTom hopes that the affordable Start 20 will get people to switch from their iPhones...

If you still haven't managed to get round to buying a sat-nav device, the TomTom Start 20 is a good place to start. It's affordable, well equipped and the impressive screen makes it easier to view and to use than a smartphone or other sat-nav rivals....

TomTom Start 20 satnav

Review TomTom?s entry level Start satnavs have long been the default choice for anyone wanting a reliable but basic PND. Now the range has been given a wash and brush up with the release of some new 4.3in screen devices with prices starting at ?130.

TomTom?s navigation system, its maps, UI and voices are pretty much state of the art and the device itself with its clever and versatile integrated mounting arm is physically impressive. But at ?130 the absence of traffic data seems poor value. ?

Reliable product

Replacing one that is about 20 years old. Great on line back up from TomTom and has lasted ages, so bought almost the same one. So much better than the mobile phone sat nav!
