TomTom Runner

Satnav specialists TomTom plots its own route to sports watch domination

Impressive QuickGPSFix technology ; Light, comfortable watch design ; Motivational graphical virtual trainer

Very basic TomTom MySports web tool ; Watch doesn't fit securely inside strap when not worn ; Lacks built-in USB charging

The TomTom Runner is a comfortable, easy to use GPS sports watch with good battery life and a great QuickGPSFix mode that makes it one of the best sports watches to buy for intermediate level runners.

TomTom Runner 3 review

One of the best affordable trackers for runners

Good price ; Solid GPS and HR tracking ; Easy to use and fairly feature-rich

No open water swimming ; No phone notifications ; Bundled headphones aren’t great

A solid and sensibly-priced GPS runner’s watch for those who don’t mind missing out on phone notifications.

TomTom Runner review

Wristy business

Comfortable on the wrist ; QuickGPSFix is accurate ; Good battery life

GPS syncing can be slow ; No built-in USB charging ; TomTom MySports still very basic

TomTom's watch is purely about the fitness focus; there are none of the extra whizzes and bangs you'll be finding in the array of smartwatches looming on the horizon. But with its unobtrusive, lightweight design and respectable price tag, the Runner is...

TomTom Runner review

Wearable tech is all the rage at the moment, particularly smartwatches. It's hardly a surprise, then, that plenty of manufacturers want a slice of the pie. But what makes TomTom - the company better known for its satnav devices - believe it has what it...

Comfortable, plenty of options, open platform support for services like RunKeeper, good enough battery life, as a watch it's great

Need a computer (no app connection), need to connect every three days, no real control over historical activities, doesn't use screen real-estate to the fullest, needs a docking station to charge and connect, TomTom MySports is poor, limitations to...

For every feature we don't like about the TomTom Runner there is another feature we do. For everything TomTom has presumably learnt from its hand in the Nike+ SportsWatch, however, it also seems to have unlearnt something else. Which is really...

Quick review: TomTom Runner

TomTom's new GPS running watch does what you want without being too flashy.

Easy to use, A good companion for 10 or 21 km runs, Not too big

Body pops out too easily out of wristband, Too little info on display in run history

TomTom Runner

With the TomTom Runner, the satnav giant is getting into the fitness game. After partnering up with Nike to make the Sporstwatch in 2012, it's striking out on its own in a bid to craft the perfect timepiece for joggers and fitness fanatics. Is it worth...

The TomTom Runner isn’t for any fitness fans who’ve invested in hardware before, like a watch, tracker or heart rate monitor. The chances are, you’re all set up, and nothing here will radically improve your workout. If you’ve just bought a pair of...

TomTom's new GPS sport watches aim for runners, cyclists, swimmers

The TomTom Runner is, as the name suggests, a GPS watch for runners, complementing the existing Nike+ Sportstwatch Powered By TomTom. The $199 Runner can track time, pace, and distance, and can be customised to set challenges of distance, time,...

TomTom Runner GPS Watch review

I really liked what TomTom has done with this GPS sportwatch. This would be great for those who are in the 5k to 10 miler range, and runs mostly 10's & 1's with little variance to their program. The slim design makes this a great all-day wearing watch....

Great looking and slim design Simplified user interface and menus Battery life Fast GPS fix

Doesn’t use heart rate zones Manually set the time Can’t have HR alerts and another goal during same activity Limited workouts options No Bluetooth pairing with smartphones
