TomTom One V4 Europe 22

With sat-nav becoming a commodity, can premium bands like TomTom compete at the cheap end of the market?

And the One is as easy to use as TomToms have always been. The most important options always seem a click or two away, the screen is responsive and address entry sensibly easy. The One has a very usable touch screen keyboard and there are also options...

TomTom One v4 review

TomTom's no-frills sat-nav device offers all you'll ever need, but it doesn't come cheap

Good route mapping ; Nice interface ; Solid build ; Nice caddy

No lane guidance ; Speed cameras subscription only

A fantastic design and great software make this a very appealing sat-nav for the entry user. It's just a shame the extra features are subscription based

TomTom ONE (4th Edition)

Slimline design, ease of use, EasyPort mount, TomTom HOME software, Map Share, Help Me! safety menu

No included AC adapter

The latest edition ONE features an even smaller design and an EasyPort mount, and supports TomTom's Map Share feature. The ONE continues to set the standard for other GPS units to strive for.

TomTom One (4th generation)

Both the One and XL are great GPS units: compact, correctable, good looking and easy to use. At AU$349 we'd pick the narrow screen One every time though.

The diet has made it slim and sexy. Easy-to-use interface. Make and share map corrections. Folds up compactly. Better value than the widescreen XL.

No Bluetooth hands-free. Routing engine addicted to main roads.

Both the One and XL are great GPS units: compact, correctable, good looking and easy to use. At RRP we'd pick the narrow screen One every time though.

Easy to use, simple, nice bright screen.

Software a little dated, newer roads not included, nothing a software update will not fix.

Very clear instructions, well timed. Warnings about speed cameras are very helpful when in strange areas.

Touchscreen is very sensitive.
