Can the TomTom GO LIVE 825 simplify the company's offerings without dumbing down their features?
5in screen ; LIVE services ; European maps
LIVE services require subscription ; Mount not detachable
There’s nothing particularly revolutionary about TomTom’s GO LIVE 825. It bundles together features that the company already offered in other devices. In fact, it’s almost like a hybrid of the recent Via and previous GO LIVE models. But in a market...

Affordable connected sat nav shows rivals how it should be done
Comprehensive maps ; Live traffic updates and intelligent routing ; Simple, easy-to-use interface ; POI much improved ; Hassle-free navigation, even on complex junctions
Live services cost extra after first year ; Plenty of cheaper or free alternatives ; Touchscreen could be more responsive
Sat navs may be one of the most beneficial gadgets ever invented, but navigating your way through all the available options can be a nightmare.

The TomTom Go Live 825 satnav has been introduced by TomTom as part of their ‘connected' range of GPS devices; ‘connected' signifying their wide scale of available features.
We have to say, we were massively impressed by the TomTom Go Live 825 Europe and the only possible holes we could pick are the price – but even that can be explained by the huge array of features that come with it. The new additions of road names to...

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with the TomTom Go Live 825, but where it falls down is on the question of value.
Easy to use ; HD Traffic service is free for the first year
Voice recognition is useless ; AU$69.95/year is a steep price for HD Traffic
There's nothing intrinsically wrong with the TomTom Go Live 825, but where it falls down is on the question of value. We'd pick the identically priced Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT over this TomTom, as the Garmin features free lifetime map updates and a...

Rubbish resolution for large screen Rubbish touch worse than my 8 year old garmin Can't browse through win explorer Super rubbish mytomtom software. So angry I didn't stick with garmin.
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
Easy to use. Clear screen.
Would perhaps be better if the screen could be removed from the holder so I don't have to remove the whole device from the car.
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
When it works it has great features and is very use able. Good size screen.
Computationally underpowered. Unreliable features such as Bluetooth, voice etc. Far too many warning screens. Dated look to case and maps.
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
Hard to take the back link off
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
Its accuracy finding addresses and postcodes are very good as are the easy to use menus
The accuracy of points of Interest is abysmal, at times up to a mile from the actual point. Should take a leaf from Garmin's book, their database and accuracy are fantastic.
