TeleNav Shotgun review

TeleNav Shotgun

The TeleNav Shotgun offers Internet connectivity via cellular network to provide real-time traffic data, current maps, current gas prices, and more. The GPS features a slim design, bright touch-screen, and text-to-speech functionality.

The Shotgun was slow with route recalculations, and satellite acquisition also took some time. The TeleNav Connected Service is a bit limited at this time, and search results don't always make sense.

The TeleNav Shotgun's Internet connectivity brings dynamic content to the driver, but the functionality is a bit limited at this time, and the GPS needs to work out some performance issues before we give it co-pilot duties.

TeleNav Shotgun

With its built-in cellular radio, this GPS device offers live traffic and fuel prices, but it could do so much more.

Route-based live traffic (with subscription). Live fuel pricing. Online trip planning. Built-in 11-million-entry POI database.

Lacks many of the features found in competing non-connected devices, such as lane preview, reality view, and multisegment routing.

The Drive To menu also has all of the standard destination options you'd expect. You can create a route to an address, an intersection, a business, a city, or a recent place, or you can choose from your saved favorites. You can even map to airports by...

Gadgetell Review: TeleNav Shotgun

Gadgetell Quick Review: What is it? The TeleNav Shotgun is the first stand alone GPS unit from TeleNav, known for their on-phone GPS Pros: Connected search, superior POI, smart traffic updates, beautiful screen, Best mounting I've seen in some time,...

If any box was going to do it, it was this one. While the Shotgun works as well as (if not better) than my cell phone version, I still like having it on my phone. Natesh Sood (Gadgetell’s GPS expert) tells me I am an odd duck for this line of...
