Navigon 7110 Review

We recently got sent the new Navigon 7110 which is the top of the range European version and for one it certainly looks the part with its sleek black finish ...

Navigon have shown with the 7110 that they can compete with the big boys in the GPS arena. Their innovative Lane Assistant with Reality view is helped by the LogBook function, which makes it an excellent addition for any company car driver.

Navigon 7100 review

Just recently, we reviewed the Navigon 5100 and were pretty impressed by this newcomer for its useful set of navigation features, including the integrated traffic receiver, lane assistant function, and 3D "photorealistic" view for complicated...

The Navigon 7100 GPS device offers a number of advanced navigation features, including text-to-speech functionality, an integrated traffic receiver with subscription-free traffic service, and a lane assistant function for optimal routing.

The 7100 is a bit sluggish and the interface isn't as user-friendly as the competition. You can't sync your cell phone's contact list with the device.

Though the Navigon 7100 offers some handy navigation tools and integrated Bluetooth, the confusing interface and sluggish performance prevents us from giving it higher marks.

Navigon 7100

Navigon is first with Zagat guides, subscription-free live traffic.

4.3-inch widescreen display. Text-to-speech conversion. Subscription-free traffic. Built-in traffic receiver, multi-segment routing. Reality View. Zagat guides.

Can't search POIs near a destination or a specific address. Bluetooth phone interface doesn't synch phone's contact list or call history. Separate TMC antenna makes for messy-looking dashboard.

Both models also feature subscription-free live traffic. Still, I found that even in the metropolitan New York area, where signal strengths are pretty strong, I needed to plug in the accessory (included) antenna in order to receive traffic information...

Navigon 7100 Review

Navigon has supplied the software that runs many GPS devices for years, and the company itself has been around since 1991. Now the German based company is releasing a line of Navigon branded GPS units, and is hoping to differentiate its product lineup...

Some neat features, but frustrating and difficult to use.

Only rarely do I stray from the established major companies in reviewing GPS navigators, but this one was just too tempting.

THE GPS

I have used Navigon software in my PDA and it took me to location I asked it to…so it said…to bad it was 6 km from where I really told it to go and where I needed to be. I will NEVER buy or even receive as a gift with extra money attached; a Navigon....

It looks good…and cheap…actually I think I mean It looks like it should work and is cheaper than a local guide at each location to take you places. I do have a pro for it…the stylus works with my PDA and it comes with a 4GB SD card that I can format...

So far, every review I have read for this thing is completely wrong. This thing is nothing more than a paperweight...and not much for one of that. I have owned this thing for four months and it has failed me on every occasion. First trip, failed my...
