Magellan RoadMate 3000 review

The RoadMate 3000 is quick to get started but has distracting buttons, an occasionally loopy screen and slow off-route recalculation

The Magellan has its plus points – like excellent voice instructions – but they’re not enough to justify the size and pricetag

Magellan Maestro 4040

Magellan's feature-packed navigator now provides AAA Assistance.

Large, 4.3 inch screen. New, improved user interface. AAA TourBook and roadside-assistance location. Powered by SiRFStar III receiver. Supports multisegment routing and is upgradable to live traffic and voice commands.

Bluetooth phone interface isn't as robust as on other GPS products. No auto-zoom or auto-volume ability.

Magellan RoadMate 3000T review

Magellan RoadMate 3000T

The Magellan RoadMate 3000T comes preloaded with maps of the North America, has an accurate receiver, and includes multimedia capabilities. It also features two useful utilities--SmartDetour and QuickSpell--to aid with congested roadways and address...

The Magellan RoadMate 3000T's external controls could be more clearly identified, and route recalculation is sometimes slow. The unit lacks text-to-speech functionality and integrated Bluetooth.

Though the Magellan RoadMate 3000T lacks some of the advanced features of its competitors, it's a good value and offers some nice navigation features and an accurate receiver.

Magellan RoadMate 3000T

Extensive navigation options and such features as QuickSpell and SmartDetour make the Magellan RoadMate 3000T GPS system a strong midrange competitor.

On-screen tutorial for new users. Well-categorized, extensive POI database. SmartDetour. Included music player/picture viewer.

Limited routing options. Can't play music or view pictures and navigate at the same time. Limited screen-customization options.

Magellan RoadMate 3000T and 3050T Car GPS Navigation Systems Review

The Magellan RoadMate 3000T and 3050T GPS navigation systems both have a 3.5″ display. Like other models in the Magellan RoadMate series, both the touch screen and buttons are used for navigation. GPS functions are provided by the highly regarded SiRF...

Magellan 3000t Versus TomTom Go510

This is an unbiased review of two economically priced GPS receivers by rival companies. The Magellan 3000t and TomTom Go510. I compare and contrast the main features and interfaces as well as the extra features that enhance your driving experience.

Magellan RoadMate 3000T Review

This week I got my hands on Magellan's much anticipated RoadMate 3000T. I put the 3000T throught the usual GPSmagazine testing criteria, and found the unit came up short in several key areas, including physical design and ease of use. The 3000T sells...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Works, but a discontinued model

If I had know that I'd have to pay as much for the current maps as I did for the unit itself, I would not have made this purchase. Save up for a current model that comes with udated maps, and a faster GUI.

Worked out of the box. Winshield mount seems to be holding up so far

The map version that come with the unit is several years old. Because this is a Recertified unit, you do not get the most recent maps for free. Expect to pay another $80 if you want the most current maps. Also, since this is a discontinued model, there...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Ok I guess

Mine came with an incompatible windshield mount. I don't know if a piece was missing or what, but the mount and GPS did not fit together.

Works

Thicker than newer GPS models. Calculation and screen transitions are slow compared to newer models. If you have never seen a new one these issues might not bother you
