Garmin zumo 450 review

The Garmin zumo 450 GPS for motorcycles follows the successful introduction of the zumo 550 last year. The 450 has all of its features except Bluetooth, the ability to speak street names and XM Satellite compatibility.

GARMIN zumo 450 3.5" Portable Motorcycle Navigation

Bought my 450 about 6 months ago for use on my VFR, but no long trips yet. The retention screw isn't worth the trouble, the mount can be unscrewed and the cable cut by a thief to bypass it, and all the screw does is get in the way, especially if you've...

Save a few bucks over the 550 if you don't need BlueTooth, this one works just as well. GPS tracking is pretty good, and directions come up with enough time to react. Earphone audio is strong with excellent quality, MP3 playing will pause while...

Large, awkward shape makes it easy to drop and hard to get into the mount. Security screw is always screwing itself in with bike vibration, and the mating driver's keychain retention is on the driver, not the cap, making it almost impossible to use. I...

ZUMO 450 GPS

This unit is awesome to have on the road.

Easy to mount, setup, & operate. The Mapsource software is a little complicated at first, but once you learn how to operate, it works good.

Unit went dead at 2 days old, you must learn how to reset it.

Excellent choice for motorcycle

I have owned this GPS for a month now. It has guided us on approx. 7 trips and done it flawlessly. I looked at the more expensive model 550 and decided against it due to the fact of not needing XM radio. I am very happy with my purchase and will be...

Easy about covers it

The Zumo 450 truely is motorcycle friendly. I have found it is very easy to operate requiring very little focus or concentration and a minimal number of button pushes to set a destination, add a via point or make changes to a route. The screen is easy...

Nice Unit

This is a nice unit for a motorcycle. I have had experience with the IWay 500 and Magellen Roadmate. The Zumo 450 is a nice all around unit, not too big and heavy like the IWay and just as easy to use as the Roadmate. The ability to transfer and create...
