Garmin GPSMap 60, 60CSx and 60Cx 2,6 inch Handheld Mapping GPS

The Garmin GPSMap 60 range including the 60, 60CSx and 60Cx are ideal for the mobile, outdoor GPS user including individuals involved in hiking, climbing and geocaching. It can however, give you automatic, turn-by-turn directions coming with a built-in...

Garmin GPSMap 60Cx Review

The other significant upgrade is that the 60Cx no longer utilizes the unit's built in memory for MapSource maps, but loads them to a microSD card instead (the unit comes with a 64 MB card). This means you have unlimited map storage capability, plus you...

rugged

I have it wired to my motorcycle battery and just leave the AA batteries out. Works great :) very happy

Been working for three years now. Dropped it in a creek once, while it was on. I can rinse it off in the kitchen sink with the spray nozzle. I mount it to my motorcycle handlebars and take it offroad on the bumpiest trails around

Extreme bumps rattle the batteries loose. These are bumps from being on my motorcycle, not from hiking

Coolest Toy Around

Installed map has little usable info other than major roads. Yes, it could get you across the state or country but it won't let you find a gas station or restuarant on the way. Plan on getting the detailed maps (at extra cost) to really get some good...

Fast. Accurate. Color Screen. Light weight. Fits comfortably in hands. Fairly easy to use with a little practice. Came with larger MicroSD card than advertised. Fast upload speeds. Speeds seem computer dependent. I have a very fast computer and it only...

Can chew up batteries pretty quick with out of the box settings, see below. Installed map is almost useless and requires purchase of detailed maps. Rechargable batteries take forever to charge on the USB connection. Large non-recessed screen makes it...

Wow

An overall great unit, I use for geocaching and it handles everything I throw at it. With the ability to do turn by turn routing, geocaching, and find waypoints (with the map pack), this unit easily deserves a 5 egg rating!

Great chipset, very fast satellite aquisition, great at routing and redirection. Easily read color screen, directions keep you on track no matter where you go. Menus are easy to use, and there is great functionality available

Not really a con, but you have to buy the map pack to get side streets / waypoints. Again, not a con, but a bummer to have to drop the hundred bucks on it. Does not speak street names or turns, just beeps, I knew that going into the unit, but still a...

Excellent GPSr

Some people mark this GPSr down because it's extra maps cost more. I don't see why, when the review is for the unit and not the maps. It is perfectly functional for everything you can imagine using a GPS for. I use it for hiking, boating, and...

It has a big color screen, high sensitivity chipset, rugged look and feel, capability to add maps, external memory.

The high price for maps is a bit of a drawback. I've had trouble displaying the road maps and topo maps at the same time. Slow upload time for maps, upwards of an hour.

GPSMAP 60CX HANDHELD/PORTABLE

I have seen some slightly negative comments about this device's street nav abilities. Let me say that this is not what this was primarily designed for, it is a hand held GPS. If you purchase the street mapping package it will do a good job of helping...

Good design and easy to use. I use this mainly for geocaching. It does get used as a street navigation device when I am in areas I am unfamiliar with.

I haven't seen any.

GPSMAP 60CX HANDHELD/PORTABLE

Great product, I also own on of the Legend series gps, menu's are simular and using the 600CX was pretty easy from the start. Use the manual to get to know your GPS and all it's features. I originally upgraded to a Magellian handheld GPS, which I...

Rugged GPS, nice bright screen, personalize every screen. Very easy to use. Even gets a satilite fix indoors.

turn by turn routing can be very generalized.
