Acer n35 - GPS PDA

Acer's N35 joins a growing list of PDAs with integrated GPS receivers. We take it for a spin to see how it measures up to the competition.

For the price the Acer promises much, offering a PDA with an integrated GPS receiver and UK maps for less than £250. However, the experience as a whole doesn’t come up to scratch on the navigation side or the PDA side of things, so it could well be...

Acer N35 GPS PDA Review

Acer N35 is the third PDA next to Mitac Mio168 and Navman PiN300, which features a GPS receiver. Acer N35 will be a treat to the GPS lovers as this PDA does not require any wires or Bluetooth running on batteries. Acer N35 uses the version three of the...

Acer N35's pros can be said as neat and tidy handheld and GPS combo design and the GPS receiver does a good job with the price being reasonable. And, the cons of this combo device can be said as, performance of the processor, limited memory, the...

Acer - n35 GPS Pocket Chauffeur

Acer's Pocket Chauffeur package is a product of two parts. First, there's the firm's n35 Pocket PC PDA, a mid-range palmtop with a few tricks up its sleeve. This has been paired with the increasingly popular ...

Overall, there's nothing hugely essential about this package. Neither the PDA nor the software are the best in their fields, and the time it takes to get going with the route finding was quite frustrating for us. But nonetheless the Pocket Chauffeur...

Acer n35 GPS handheld

By no means a unique product, however unlike a number of other PDA type packages setting up the unit is, on the face of it, quite simple.

Acer n35 Handheld PC

The Acer n35 Handheld PC includes a fold-away 12-channel GPS receiver and is a great device for navigation, but its lack of Bluetooth and WiFi support...

GPS navigation, reasonably priced

Plastic finish, lack of Bluetooth and WiFi support, limited memory for applications

You only have to look at the absence of Bluetooth and WiFi support to see that the n35 is a navigation device first and a handheld second.

Acer n35

Acer's n35 Pocket PC handheld aims to be the ideal travelling companion with an onboard GPS.

Neat and tidy handheld/GPS combo design ; GPS receiver works well ; Reasonable price

Moderate-speed CPU ; Limited memory for user applications and backup to flash ROM ; Navigation software requires use of SD card slot ; Navigation software's interface and instruction regime could be improved ; Lacks Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

The moderately specified Acer n35 won't suit anyone looking for sophisticated handheld usage beyond the navigation side of things. The Destinator software is good in parts, but the rough edges we found around spoken instructions are pretty fundamental....

Acer n35

The n35 is a complete navigation kit comprising a capable PDA with integrated GPS receiver (that folds down flush into the back), CoPilot Live 5 software, a sturdy windscreen mount and a cigarette lighter adaptor. At this price, it's noticeably the...

Apart from wireless radios, the other obvious concession to the Acer's low price is its 266MHz Samsung processor. CoPilot Live occasionally suffers from this lack of power in that it's slow to respond to menu options and map browsing. There were no...

Acer N35 GPS receiver and navigation PDA

The Acer N35 GPS navigation device is a full-featured PDA powered by Windows Mobile Pocket PC. You can take this portable unit along on a hike to nature trails, or attach it to you car windshield for street and highway navigation.

Value for money: The Acer N35 is excellent value for money. You get a full-featured PDA and GPS in an integrated package, and the product also includes often needed accessories, such as navigation software, car holder and cigarette lighter cable....
