The C64 Mini review

The biggest selling home computer becomes a tiny TV games console

Decent selection of games ; Excellent, faithful emulation ; Can load your own games…

… although doing so is a faff ; Cramp-inducing joystick lacks precision ; Many games are brutally unforgiving

The C64 Mini’s simple to set up, and makes all the right noises, but its controller’s too often an anti-joystick.

The C64 Mini review: Nostalgia’s not enough

The C64 Mini is a valiant attempt to join the current craze for tiny retro consoles that hark back to our childhoods. Unfortunately, a bad controller, questionable software design and the poor roster of games on offer sour the package here. While it's...

Clearly put together with love ; Hardware itself looks nice ; Easy way to play old games for novices unwilling to learn emulation

Joystick is bad ; Game selection is pretty bad ; Adding more games is difficult but still necessary

Here's the rub: This thing exists not because there's a lot of demand for it but because Nintendo started a trend.
