PlayStation VR 2 Review

The PlayStation VR 2 is Sony's second attempt at a virtual reality headset, but is it worth a buy a year after launch?

Stunning 4K OLED screen ; Sense controllers are huge improvement ; Stylish design and streamlined setup ; Haptic feedback improves immersion

No backwards compatability ; More expensive than a PS5 ; Can be uncomfortable after extended use

The PlayStation VR 2 has all the specs required to offer wonderfully immersive experiences, but will depend on future first-party PlayStation games in order to be a worthwhile alternative to the more affordable Meta Quest series.

Sony PlayStation VR2 initial review: Early playtime with the next-gen VR system in Horizon Call of the Mountain

CES 2023 gave us the first demos of PlayStation VR 2 - and the first impressions are great.

Great design ; Easy to setup ; Eye-tracking seems great ; Sense controller are nice and light ; Stunning visual performance

See-through not great quality ; It's expensive

The PSVR 2 really feels like a next-gen moment for VR gaming. While we've only spent a short time in one of the launch titles, it's clear that PSVR 2 has the power to deliver an out-of-this-world experience. It's an expensive system, however, and a...

Sony PlayStation VR 2 review: eyes on the prize

Next-gen console VR arrives with a bang. PlayStation fans are in for a treat with PS VR 2, even if the game library is limited now

Only one cable compared to the original PS VR’s many ; Reliable tracking ; Much improved controllers ; Bright and colourful OLED display

Visuals can easily look off if the headset isn’t positioned exactly right ; Poor battery life on controllers ; Very few games you can’t play on cheaper hardware

A big improvement over the original PS VR, but the hardware needs a library of games that make the most of it, and it doesn’t have that…yet

Sony PlayStation VR2 Review

Excellent graphics and sound ; Strong launch library ; Useful eye-tracking tech ; Lightweight build ; Easy to set up

Not compatible with PlayStation VR games

The PlayStation VR2 is a comprehensive upgrade that tops its predecessor in terms of graphics, sound, and tracking technology, making it a must-buy headset for PS5 owners interested in virtual reality.

PSVR 2 review: next-gen virtual reality has arrived

PSVR 2 is the next-gen headset gaming needed.

Wonderfully tactile design ; Packed with state-of-the-art tech ; Impressive launch games

Still some motion sickness

PSVR 2 is here and it's, honestly, a fantastic piece of technology. The design riffs on PS5's curves and this hardware design features the kind of approach to detail Sony has become renowned for; the curved lines demand you pick it up. Priced at...

Sony’s PSVR 2 Would Be My Favorite Headset... If It Worked With PC

Forcing the excellent PlayStation VR 2 to tether to a PS5 console restricts its library, its usefulness, and its prospects.

As it is, the PSVR 2 is a fine toy, but the hardware itself has the capability to be much more. A $550 price tag is appealing, and while the jury’s still out on whether VR belongs outside of the rec room, the PSVR 2 is the first headset I’ve used that...
