Still grinds, but...

Does not make coffee itself.

Small, makes exactly the amount I need for a pot of coffee from bean (only grind what is needed -- store the rest). Easy to clean

After many uses, the black plastic "Chamber Maid" cleaning system part wore off and is now removable. Not sure if it is serviceable or just buy new (which is probably cheaper).

This grinder rules

People really put "It's not a burr grinder" as a con?! it's also not a porsche, a Victoria Secret model, nor is it an iphone. People are crazy, this is a very nice, simple, easy to maintain blade grinder that has done the job for over 3 years for me...

The settings can take a bit to get use to, but now that I always grind the same amount of beans (full cup) i leave the settings alone and it times it perfectly. I love the detachable cup and the little wiper insert that spins to get the majority of...

Mr. Coffee IDS77 Coffee Grinder

I personally use this coffee grinder more for pyrotechnical purposes: powdering potassium nitrate, re-powdering sugar, etc. But it definitely does a great job at grinding up the coffee too! For the price, you really cant go wrong, worst thing would be...

The most obvious one for me was that the grinding 'cup' part fully detaches from the motor base, quintessentially making cleanup a snap. The lid portion of the cup also detaches, so you can further do a more thorough clean. The way the cup is designed,...

The one major con I see, is that it tends to heat up a bit if you run it more than twice in a row without a 10-ish minute cool down. No biggie if you are just grinding for a quick cup/pot, but this is definitely not an industrial type coffee grinder,...

Better tasting coffee than expecteed

It's ridiculous to complain that this isn't a burr coffee grinder. A good burr grinder will cost 5 times as much as this item. If you need industrial strength coffee grinder, this isn't it. It is very good for for most home users though.

For the price, you can't beat the quality of this coffee grinder. It is perfect for most drip coffee users, and people who don't grind huge amounts of coffee beans

The green lights are always on.

A Mistake

If I had known this was a blade grinder I would not have purchased it. I can just put the beans in the blender to accomplish the same task. I specifically wanted a burr grinder. Pardon my prejudice for blade grinders, it's still a decent item overall.

Cheap and has decent features. Dishwasher safe!

This grinder does NOT use the Burr Milling method. It is actually a blade grinder. It doesn't brew less than 4 cups, but no serious grinder does that anyway.

Just works

Clean it when you feel like it, not everytime like it suggests.

The thing just works. Simple as can be. Nice removable chamber. Small, but it is not intended for major grinding operations, just grinds enough beans for a pot or less.

I'm new to grinding beans, but I've settled on grinding only enough for one cup at a time, and it seems this grinder has no settings for less than 4 cups. I get around that by setting its grinding option to 'coarse'. This way, two scoops of beans grind...

It's just "OK"

The buttons on the front appear to change only the amount of time it will grind (while you hold the power on). This makes it only slightly Rube Goldberg-ish. Black & Decker should stick to making power tools.

It grinds coffee.

It's not a burr grinder... it's a blade grinder/blender. It's a tad under-powered -- the motor slows down if you have a very full load of beans in it. With a full load of beans in it, you have to grind-shake-grind-shake... etc in order to grind all the...
