The first unit that arrived did not work at all. The blue light on the on/off switch lit up, but nothing else happened - the machine was totally silent. I had to return it for a replacement. *See the hint below.

I so wanted to like this machine - a significant upgrade from my Cuisinart blade grinder. The DeLonghi looks so much better, so well put together...

Unfortunately, it does not grind even close to fine enough for espresso and the coffee tastes foul. I am switching back to the Cuisinart that does a much better job and only cost me $10!
