Avoid at all cost

Any pros are irrelevant given the cons

Check out "Reader for PC Horrible Application" on the Sony Forum. You can't find it with Google. You have to go to the sony web site --> Support Forum (footer of the page), scroll down to "Reader Digital Book" --> Reader Library Software -->...

That's a warranty?

Sony should be ashamed of themselves for this sorry "warranty", especially for the part that eats itself when you have a claim. Think pretty hard about this. It's probably worth getting a Square Trade warranty. It might seem a little pricey, but if you...

Nice display, works great with Calibre. Doesn't have the burdensome 160-page legalese you have to agree to with the Nook, doesn't demand that you register an account (also Nook), and doesn't think it has the right to "unsell" things you've bought...

Wi-Fi failed within 6 months, doesn't see any networks at all. Under the "warranty" I can pay $30 for a refurbished unit, or send it off for repair and pay a minimum of $25, then wait for weeks. Either way, my year warranty vanishes and is replaced by...

PRS-T1 is the best Sony Reader so far...

I've owned a previous Sony Reader, and I also own a Kindle and frequently use a relative's nook. I have to say, the Sony Reader is probably the most advanced of all three, but I can't say it's as refined. The hardware is great, but a step down from the...

Light weight, slim profile, great touch screen, good UI

Wish I bought a Kobo

It just isn't user friendly. The Kobo is cheaper and easier to sync. (It turns out that it isn't easy to write a review on Sony's website either.)

Jury still out

I've had my PRS T1 about a week and I like it, but would be a lot happier if the wi-fi was stable. I can get it to connect to both my networks. It's more stable on the WEP network than on the WPA network. I assigned it a dedicated IP on the WEP network...

Sony e-reader - worth owning

The extended warranty/replacement program from Newegg also is what sold me on the Sony e-reader (black). This is the product for me and at a great price too – thanks Newegg.

I saw a video on YouTube of someone demoing it. I knew then it was what I wanted. I have been searching the web for this very thing - the tablets are too heavy and pricey. Very comfortable to hold and it weighs so little. Reads the PDF technical...

Sort of flacky screen rendoring has you change viewing sizes but the screen updates so fast I don't care.

Without a doubt, the most inconsistent unreliable piece of technology I've ever had the misfortune to buy. (Glad it was only Airmiles).

Needs a lot of improvement.

I purchased this Sony Reader yesterday, after see what a great deal I could get for it. When I opened the packaging, I was shocked that Sony has become so cheap!! Only a USB cable for charging and nothing else!!! Different design than the PRS-600 BC...
