A 300ppi E-Ink screen gives this ereader the edge
Easy to hold in one hand ; Polished OS ; Child-friendly features
No SD card slot ; Raised bezel ; Fixed lighting
The Kobo Glo HD is all about value and a great reading experience. It's easily as good as any Kindle. As well as a slightly more practical though boring design, it's also much cheaper than the high-end Kindle Voyage.

Kobo Glo HD review: This Kindle Voyage rival is a solid premium ebook reader, with a light-up screen, comfortable design and all of the features...
Sharp backlit screen ; Comfortable design
Kindle Store still better
For £109, the Kobo Glo HD offers a premium ebook reading experience easily matching the Kindle Voyage. The neat and tidy interface, backlit screen and comfortable reading experience all get a big thumbs up, but Kobo’s online store is still second place...

Is this a Kindle Paperwhite killer?
Super-sharp screen ; Grippy back ; Good battery life
Kobo store lags behind Amazon ; Not all that pretty, is it? ; A bit slower than the top Kindles
Kobo cuts out the flashy extras to bring you one of the best ereader screens at a pretty affordable price

The Kobo Glo HD melds great design and good pricing, but it's up against some stiff competition in a crowded market.
The Kobo Glo HD is sleek and compact, with a nice fit and feel in the hand. Its user-friendly interface, clean crisp screen with comfortably even lighting, and font customisability make reading a pleasant, uncomplicated experience.
Like most E Ink e-readers, it handles PDFs badly. In addition, its recommendation algorithms are generally quite baffling, and its store, while growing, is small compared to its direct competitors.
Though its store still has room to grow, the Kobo e-reader offers a smooth, simple and user-friendly experience at a competitive price point.

As the main competitor to the Amazon Kindle range of eBook readers, Kobo has released it Kobo Glo HD product. Arriving with the claim of being “the highest quality eReader at the best possible price”, the Kobo Glo HD is, presumably, the company's...
The Kobo Glo HD has a 6-inch Carta E Ink HD touch screen that has a high-resolution of 1448 x 1072 pixels which works out at 300dpi. This screen is encased within a body that is made up of a black plastic front and a tough black rubber dimpled back...

Rakuten ups the e-reader ante, packing in a high-DPI display at a Kindle Voyage-beating price

The Kb
High-resolution screen ; Compact design ; Significantly cheaper than the Kindle Voyage
Sluggish performance ; No expandable storage
The Kobo Glo HD brings nice design language and a hi-res screen to a quality mid-tier e-reader.

The Kobo Glo HD's 6” HD Carta E Ink touchscreen with a 1448 x 1072 resolution 300 pixels per inch is no gimmick, it really looks super crisp and clear. Kobo also still maintains the most even backlighting in the market which ensures great visibility in...
As with any eReader, I alwasy suggest having a look see at the range and types of eBooks available on the platform. If Kobo has what you need or are interested in, by all means do consider investing in the Kobo Glo HD, your eyes will thank you.

Screen is easy on the eyes ; Choice of content ; Price is competitive
Glossy border around screen can be annoying at times
