Foxit eSlick review

Foxit is best known for its software, Foxit Reader, a popular PDF viewer that is leaner and less resource-hungry than Adobe's PDF reader. It's no surprise, then, that the company's e-book device is built solely around the PDF format. The Foxit eSlick...

The Foxit eSlick is slightly cheaper than a Kindle, but the savings don't cover the difference in quality.

Foxit eSlick FE-01 ebook reader

This ebook reader deals well with PDFs Ebook readers are becoming more common but that does not mean all the wrinkles have been ironed out. Sadly we found too many wrinkles in the eSlick reader ...

Foxit eSlick review

The eSlick costs almost as much as the Kindle 2. Unfortunately, the eSlick's hardware has no wireless capability and suffers from ergonomic problems, and Foxit has a long way to go to provide software and services that would make the device a desirable...

Foxit eSlick Ebook Reader

Foxit Software eSlick Product Review

Can handle free e-books saved as PDF files ; Inexpensive and easy to read text on

No support for DRM-encrypted e-books ; Only one font size on our model

This e-book reader costs slightly less than an Amazon Kindle or a Sony Reader, but it's no match for them.

Review: Foxit eSlick Reader e-book reader

This e-book reader is curiously named because the e-book reader is decidedly unslick, with a utilitarian appearance that lacks the elegance of competing e-book readers.

Inexpensive and easy to read text on ; Can handle free e-books saved as PDF files

Only one font size on our model ; No support for DRM-encrypted e-books

The eSlick Reader is lightweight, small, and thin, but it feels plasticky and cheap. The eSlick is sometimes a bit hard to hold naturally, and turning pages involves moving your hand to the four-way controller in the lower right portion of the face. We...

Foxit eSlick Reader

Foxit eSlick Reader is manufactured by the same company that made the Kindle for Amazon. However, eSlick is thinner, measuring less than half an inch, and lighter, weighing roughly 6 ounces. With a name like eSlick, can one expect a smooth and clever...

The eSlick is light on the pocket, literally and figuratively. With MSRP of $259.99 only, it is cheaper than most brands in the market and, weighing only 6.4 ounces, it's a featherweight. And with no requirement for constant recharge, it's quite a...

Users will be happy to know that the eSlick lacks the flash issues at page turns of the Sony Reader. However, the device displays only 4 shades of gray – Sony has 8 and Kindle has 16 – and so sacrifices image details. The D-pad found on the lower right...

With its native PDF capacity, Foxit eSlick Reader has the potential to challenge Kindle and carve a niche for itself. And if you want a no-fuss device that can entertain you with books and music, the eSlick reader certainly fits the bill

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Don't waste your time or money

Over all this product could have been a winner if Foxit stuck with it. I'm dealing with lines on my screen that seem random. A reboot of the device will clear this up. The screen will sometimes turn white. A reboot clears this also. The documents will...

1) When it works it works well ; 2) If feels good ; 3) The battery will last for a good long time

It doesn't work often enough to be worth your time ; 1) It boots up very very very slowly ; 2) The unit will freeze up randomly during a long readying session. Once it is reset you have to go back into the document to find the page you left off at ; 3)...

Disappointed with newegg

I ordered this understanding that it came READY TO USE however it did not. The one I got came with version 1 build 0818 firmware, which DOES NOT support EPUB or PDB file formats. Tried repeatedly to update, and it repeatedly failed. Foxit offered to...

versatile ; easy to use ; expandable

hard to upgrade ; does not come with cover as shown ; no way to tell what firmware is installed on ordered item

Consumer review (newegg.com)

It is a very good ebook reader!

Fast PDF Loading, good reflow, good txt support, new firmware support epub format ; I like the control button. it slim and easy to handle by hand

less format support ; battery only support about 1500-1800pages reading ; if the pdf have too many pictures around words, that will make this pdf is not readable.( actually sony does pdf much worse)
