nice screen great battery BUT....

Son'y said that when the laser starts to die it won't read DVD info but still has enough power to read music CD's I could not find my receipt so Sony said it would be an out of warranty repair they would exchange it for a "refurbished" unit for $150. ...

Nice big screen ; great battery life ; good sound quality ; good shock absorption for car use

only got used about 60 hours before it died ; ran great for 6-8 months then would not read DVD's. would play music cd's just fine

Failed twice

The first one I purchased worked for about 3 weeks before the motor gave out and it would not play anything. RMA'ed it and the replacement did the same thing. Contacting Sony for help since I am now out of my 30-day RMA window. I liked the FX810 player...

Great system with easy menus. The playback is solid (when the player worked). Great battery life and more compact power cords

The buttons are not as user friendly as in previous versions. The remote is larger than the FX810. A hard on-off switch instead of a toggle switch is not as nice since you cannot turn the player off with the remote now

Excellent portable player

Considering the price, you get a lot for not that much!

Excellent unit capable of reading DVD-R, DVD+R and double layer DVD. Smooth operation, clean and bright screen, decent sound and remote control make this a must buy

Battery gives approximately 3 hours of run time so don't forget the wires when your going for long trips. Not really a con, but the more you get the better it is, this would be the only improvement I would like to see here

One gets what one pays for!

Does what it says. Nice battery life - my daughter can get through at least two movies before needing to recharge. Would not play through our TV, however. Reasonably bright and sharp screen. A good deal at the price.

Not dvdr friendly

Waste of money you would think for the price it'd be a lot better. Huge dissapointment.

Sharp picture

Drive is loud. Does not play DVDr very well so if you intend to play burnt DVDs do not buy. I have another generic cheap portable DVD player that plays all of my burnt DVDs very well
