Sanyo HVR-DX610

A large and rather bulky unit, the HVR-DX610 DVD/VCR combination recorder from Sanyo nevertheless presents itself as a functional and easy to use devi...

Easy to use, effective and simple interface

No DVD-R recording, limited outputs, basic feature set

A great option for users who don't wish to blow their budget on big features and overblown functionality, the HVR-DX610 is a grass roots level recorder, with an emphasis on basic but very solid performance.

Bad

It lasted one year (I only paid $250 for it) and it only records on DVD+R which don't play on LG so that's no good! Will not get it repaired!

the fact that it records as well as copies from VCR to DVD

After warranty runs out (about a week after) the thing wont receive TV signals so you cannot view what it records.

The convenience of turning your old VCR's into DVD's or to 'back up' the kids movies for when they get wrecked, also to copy TV shows to either disc or video, depending on how much you wanted to watch the particular show

Getting Parts for the DVD, after the Warranty runs out. Cost $449 new, to get the DVD Module fixed $250!!!
