The Oppo BDP-95EU has serious on-rack presence
Easy to use ; solid spec ; impressive build ; excellent upscaler ; satisfying high-def images
No smart or VoD functionality ; not as exciting to listen to as some rivals
A desirable Blu-ray player blessed with a long list of appealing attributes

Oppo's new universal supports CD/SACD, DVD-A, networked AV and 3D Blu-ray. But it's the sound quality that makes it so special
Revealing, transparent and musically involving ; Good design ; Connectivity
Has some annoying bugs ; Not compatible with MP3

OPPO is not a brand that immediately springs to mind when you think high-end AV. But over the years, this largely anonymous outfit has consistently produced disc players that quietly over-deliver. The BDP-95EU is its latest and most ambitious model.
Pristine video quality and music performance; impressive build; twin HDMI outputs
No MP3 file support; woeful internet content portal; big remote

Oppo Blu-ray players have been a fixture in Home Theater's Top Picks section since the introduction of the BDP-83 in 2009. Earlier this year, we added its successor, the BDP-93, to the list due to its flawless playback of Blu-ray Discs, speed of...
