DenonDVD-3910

It's a powerful video processor in DVD guise ' and it also comes with both HDMI and DVD-D digital video outputs

Can turn a 576-line picture signal into a 1080-line image. Comes with both HDMI and DVD-D digital video outputs. Plays exceptionally well.

In truth, not much to con about.

Denon DVD-3910 universal player

If you?re into home cinema separates, chances are you?ll have some Denon kit somewhere. The company currently leads the home cinema field ahead of the likes of Yamaha and Pioneer. Where other companies are battling to out-do each other...

Astonishingly good universal player with some of the best pictures and sound around ;

CD sound is merely very good, and the picture tweaking can be bewildering without expert help

Of course, a good spread of picture controls is useless without a fundamentally good picture, and the DVD-3910 doesn't disappoint here, too. The player features Faroudja video processing and can up-convert a video signal to support 720-line progressive...

Infinitely adjustable, HDMI and DVI-D support, superb picture quality, visual presets

Dynamic flattening on CD playback

Denon's DVD-3910 sets a high bar for universal disc players.

Denon DVD-3910 Underwood Mod

Continuing on my series of disc-player reviews, I wanted to incorporate at least one “modded” unit. I am of the opinion that to extract the final ounces of fidelity a component has to be thoroughly tweaked; beef up a power supply here, change a...

State-of-the-art video connections including DVI and HDMI ; State-of-the-art video processing, including upscaling to 480p, 720p and 1080i ; Outstanding 2-channel audio playback quality ; Plays both hi-rez audio formats, SACD and DVD-Audio ; Compatible...

Considerable investment in light of upcoming Bluray and HD-DVD technologies ; Remote not programmable and only partially backlit ; Voids manufacturers warranty, however Underwood offers a 90 day warranty on the entire machine and one year on all their...

Denon DVD-3910 DVD Player Review

Denon surprised us recently when they told us that their new DVD-3910 universal DVD player was essentially the former flagship DVD-5900 player (with a slightly scaled down power supply) and a whole

Top of the line video performance ; Unsurpassed audio performance ; Very good build quality ; DVD-Audio and SACD through IEEE 1394 (in DTCP-equipped receivers) ; Much improved analogue bass management levels

Cannot simultaneously output progressive component output and DVI/HDMI video ; No multi-channel analogue output when HDMI is set to multi-channel output (Normal or LPCM) ; Component output failed HQV Film Detail test

Universal players used to be synonymous with compromise. These days, companies like Denon have done their best to offer the best performance in a variety of areas all in a single machine. The DVD-3910 is a perfect example of how an excellent DVD video...
