Improved the sound and image quality when watching DVD's. Good solid design which allows the user to feel they bought a very good product.

although there is ease of using the product, it takes time to get used to the programming of the DVD player.

Good quality player, nice user interface.

I was willing to pay the higher price for this player over other upconverting players for several reasons:

It just works, with a well-thought-out comfortable interface

Exellent! very clean looking with results!!

Thru much research I decided on the Denon 1730.I also looked at a Sony & Panasonic player's but went with the Denon for a few reasons. #1 Reputation of quality , I have other Denon components & am very happy with them, they have been leader's in audio...

I have an old Philips DVD Player and figured since I upgraded to a Pioneer Elite Plasma TV, I should get a DVD player that could offer upconvert capabilities. After some research the Denon seemed to be the way to go. I went to Best Buys Magnolia store...
