Uses SCMS copy protection, hence only CD R Audio discs can be used. Editing recordings on the Hard disc takes a while due to the lack of a fast search function.

If you just want to make CD compilations this may be over the top. Then again, it is, as CD recorder/players go, a very good one. But where it really shines is in recording long items, for example a radio broadcast of which you don't necessarily want...
Dead handy for off-air recording and making your own compilations ; Easy to use
A little expensive given you can buy a PC for the same that will do all this and more
