A good design and delivers on the features it includes. However buyers should be aware of the omissions: time shift of live TV is not supported and the device includes an analogue rather than digital tuner.

HDMI cable included, easy to find recordings

No timeshift function, analogue tuner

Samsung's DVD-HR735 offers HDMI connectivity, but beyond that it's a largely unexciting DVD recorder.

One touch recording is easy to use ; HDMI connector ; Any key context functionality

Some chaptering and copying limitations ; Menus are muddled and slow

Well bought it for the last world cup - mid 2006, last week the time started blinking then it died completely. Have not been able to atually play any DVD's for about a year. So I agree with the last post, last time I buy Samsung, what a load of cr@p....

It worked well when it worked

It stopped working after about 15months, of course out of warranty

As with the other reviews, mine is 18 months old and get stuck on DVD load. It will sit there and spin for 10 minutes (not exaggerating) before it will give your disc back.

Price, looks

Menus are a bit clunky, tuner seems to need the TV on to "load" properly, otherwise I end up recording black screens audio only; DVDs no longer loading

It was good value at the time, but in retrospect I wish I had spent a little more for a unit with a digital tuner (I have poor analogue reception in my area but digital is OK).

Cheap, attractive, does the job

Menus are clunky. Will need to give new users a tutorial
