Vivitar ViviCam 6200w

If you're after an affordable, robust underwater camera for the kids and don't really care about looks and size, the Vivitar ViviCam 6200w is a sensible buy.

Waterproof to 10 metres. Rubberised, shockproof body. Easy to use underwater.

No optical zoom. Focus free lens. Big and heavy.

The camera felt very sturdy in our hands and we weren't afraid of dropping it in the sand or experimenting with it while swimming among a group of surfers. Our final verdict -- the ViviCam 6200w didn't let us down. It is a robust camera which lives up...

Vivitar Vivicam 6200

Very rugged - we gave one to our young daughter as her first camera. She was taking pictures in minutes. So much better than those toy cameras and very easy to use. Excellent value.

Quite heavy. Uses standard AA batteries that don't last that long.

The picture quality is suprisingly good. The video is also very good. For the price it is amazing value for money. You can take it in the sea and on the beach. You don't have to wory about getting sand or water in it. You get video and photographs that...

it is difficult to see the screen in bright sun. The camera uses AA batteries you need to carry spares I went through one set a day.
