Sony RX100 IV

The Sony RX100 IV is the fourth instalment in what has become our favourite compact camera series. Since its beginnings in 2012, it has given us pocket-friendly models that offer image quality good enough to satisfy high-end DSLR-wielders on those days...

Pocketable size ; Excellent shooting speed ; Versatile video ; Great image quality at lower ISOs

Intimidating price

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV review

Sony's latest high-end compact camera gets a faster processor and 4K video

High-resolution viewfinder ; Tilting screen ; Large sensor ; 4K video

High price ; No touchscreen ; Limited raw functionality

The RX100 IV follows in the illustrious footsteps of its predecessors, delivering better image quality than ever. But the absence of a touchscreen and some minor niggles mean it can't quite justify its high price.

Sony Cyber-shot RX10 IV review

It's expensive, but it's virtually in a league of its own

Excellent and fast 24-600mm lens ; Superb stills and video quality ; High-quality EVF and tilting touchscreen ; Excellent high-ISO performance ; Advanced AF system

Pricey compared to rivals ; Touchscreen control limited ; Relatively large and heavy

For those looking for a powerful all-in-one solution, the RX10 IV is the best camera out there. It comes at a price, but there's nothing else quite like it.

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV review: Still the compact to beat

It's 2015 and there's an argument that the compact camera is obsolete in the face of advancing smartphones. The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV is the absolute antithesis to that; a high-end, pocketable compact with large 1-inch sensor and 24-70mm f/1.8-2.8...

The pocketable compact to beat, excellent image quality, built-in electronic viewfinder, fast aperture lens, customisable control ring

Hugely expensive, autofocus performance could be yet faster, still no touchscreen, limited bump over third-gen predecessor

There's no escaping it - the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV is one pricey compact camera. Is that the price of perfection? Almost.

Sony RX100 IV review

Sony goes fourth to conquer the compact competition

Excellent image quality ; 4K videos ; Brilliantly fun HFR mode ; Pocket-sized

Prohibitive price ; Limited zoom range

Sony’s pocket rocket is a compact with almost no compromises

Sony RX100 IV review: Into video? The RX100 IV is your compact camera

With a ton of video-oriented capabilities, the Cyber-shot RX100 IV outshines (and out-costs) the rest of the enthusiast compact pack. For still photos, not so much.

Great video features to supplement its 4K capabilities distinguish the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV from the rest of the advanced-compact pack. It also retains the nice design perks, like a popup electronic viewfinder, of the earlier RX100 models.

Like its predecessor, the autofocus system could be more consistent and the battery life has gotten even worse.

A nice choice if you're looking for an advanced compact with class-leading video capabilities, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV is a little expensive if you just want a good camera for shooting stills.

Goondu review: Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV September 7th, 2015 | by Wilson Wong Imaging 0

Is the new version worth the S$1,399 that Sony is asking for? The images shot on this little gem are, beyond doubt, impressive.

Sony RX100 IV: A pricey point-and-shoot that falls short of greatness [REVIEW]

Incredible image and video quality ; Super compact design ; Ultra-sharp retractable electronic viewfinder ; Tiltable display ; Faster autofocusing

4K video recording limited to 5 minutes ; Weakest battery life of any RX100 ; Frustrating slow-motion recording ; Crazy expensive for a point-and-shoot

Sony's RX100 IV is a performance-packed point-and-shoot, but the limited 4K video recording and confusing slow-motion mode isn't worth the $950.
