The OM-D E-M1X is Olympus' new flagship Micro Four Thirds camera, with lightning burst shooting speeds. Is it the perfect camera for wildlife and sports?
Up to 60fps burst shooting ; Fantastic battery life ; Great handling
Small sensor ; Limited telephoto range ; Expensive
The OM-D E-M1X is a fantastic camera for those who like to shoot sports, wildlife and action. But at this price, it's certainly in niche territory.

One of best cameras of any type currently available
Superb electronic viewfinder ; Responsive AF system ; Good image quality ; Sturdy build
JPEG files somewhat over-processed
Much like the recent E-P5, the E-M1 now offers full wireless connectivity, allowing for the wireless transfer of images between the camera and a compatible smartphone or tablet, as well as wireless control of the camera in the field.

The best Micro Four Thirds camera you can buy
Stacked sensor improves AF performance ; Superb stabilization ; Lovely in the hand ; Well implemented computational modes
Only 20MP resolution ; Touchscreen doesn't work for menus ; Controls can be a tad fiddly
The OM-1 is a small, fun, weatherproof camera that offers a compelling mix of old and new for all kinds of photographer. It's one of the best-handling cameras around and extremely versatile, thanks to its mix of a new 20MP stacked sensor, improved AF...

Olympus's best MFT camera to date and one of the best CSCs on the market, now with firmware update 2.0
Small camera body ; Plenty of direct controls ; Excellent EVF ; High quality images ; Weather sealed
LCD not variangle ; Some features hard to find ; High price
This camera delivers high quality, correctly exposed images with plenty of detail, good colour and well-controlled noise. The featureset is also impressive the touchscreen well-implemented.

The Olympus OM-D E-M1 compact system camera is a compact system camera that also works with DSLR lenses. Could this be Olympus's best camera yet?
Solid chassis ; High-res tilting LCD and EVF ; DSLR-esque images
Could be more intuitive ; Fiddly controls
So far we've only seen a pre-production model of the Olympus OM-D E-M1, but we were very impressed with what we saw. The DSLR-style design will appeal to enthusiasts looking for top-notch picture quality rather than those looking for a space-saving...

We've been using the Olympus OM-D E-M1 for a number of months now. This compact system camera has seen us through many different shoots - from personal snaps to product images that you might have seen in some other Pocket-lint reviews - made all the...
Outstanding image quality, super-fast autofocus, great electronic viewfinder, solid build, lots of customisation and function buttons, loads of lens options
Battery life limitations, colours dull at higher ISO settings, it is expensive, feedback noise from stabilisation system, menu systems are busy, single SD slot
There's no doubt that the Olympus OM-D E-M1 is a credible bit of kit. As far as compact system cameras go there's nothing else as fully featured on the market, nor as all-round capable as this slice of retro-inspired cool.

The Olympus OM-D E-M1 takes everything we love about the best ever compact system camera and makes it even better
Pro-like manual controls ; Rock-steady stabilisation ; The fastest autofocus around
Continuous AF can be beaten
The best, most complete all-round compact system camera money can buy

Like the existing OMD-EM5, the Olympus OMD-EM1 is an advanced compact system camera that takes its cues from the company's classic OM series SLRs. It has a 16Mp Micro Four Thirds sensor and can use existing Micro Four Thirds lenses, but it promises...
