Nikon 1 J2 review

The Nikon 1 J2 is the brand's third compact system camera, and the first for 2012. Building on the Nikon 1 J1, is this update enough?

Cool, compact body, Neat pop-up flash, Approachable menu system

Not much change from J1, Same price as basic DSLR, No built-in image stabiliser

Nikon 1 J2 review

There is no electronic viewfinder but the fixed 3-inch screen has had its resolution upped from 460k dots to 921K, not that one can immediately tell. While battery life has stayed the same as the J1 for stills, should you choose the maximum 60fps frame...

This one’s looks outstrip performance, but small size and access to a wide range of lenses via adapter make it a sound option, though going for the older and cheaper J1 might be the sensible idea.

Nikon 1 J2 review

The first generation of cameras will always need some degree of tweaking before they really deliver what the user wants. While the J2 is a nice camera and offers some improvements over the J1, it doesn't feel like it has gone far enough to progress the...

Nikon 1 J2

The Nikon 1 J2 is a small, compact mirrorless camera that looks good and boasts a 10-megapixel sensor, capable of continuous shooting speeds of up to 60 frames per second at full resolution, full HD video capture, a fast auto-focus system, and a range...

The Nikon 1 J2 tries its best to keep up with the other mirrorless cameras, and on some levels it succeeds. Its image quality and build quality are great and are well recommended, and for those who want to start their new hobby with a simple yet...

Nikon Series 1 J2 Review

Joshua Waller has a look at the new and improved Nikon J2 - with minimal changes what does this camera offer over the original J1?

High speed shooting at 60fps; High resolution screen; Compact, stylish camera and lenses; Large range of future lenses; Hybrid AF - Contrast and Phase Detection; Impressive image quality; Camera switches on when you unlock collapsible lenses; High...

Nikon J2 review

Second generation Compact System Camera finds it hard to improve on perfection

Cool design, metal build, simple intuitive handling, a twist of the lens powers the camera up or down (if using the kit zoom), creative mode for more experimental users, slight boost in LCD resolution

Though the market has moved on, hardly a jot has changed feature-wise when compared to the year-old J1, picture quality is acceptable but only marginally better than your average snapshot

This one’s looks outstrip performance, but small size and access to a wide range of lenses via adapter make it a sound option, though going for the older and cheaper J1 might be the sensible idea.

Nikon 1 J2 Preview

Nikon's popular 1 series cameras is getting a new model for 2012, the 1 J2. It features many of the same specifications from last year's J1, including a 10-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 3.0-inch LCD display, the EXPEED 3 image processor, full manual...

Nikon 1 J2

The J2 is a small update to the Nikon 1 series of interchangeable lens cameras, with a higher-resolution screen and new colours among the main changes.

Nikon is set to release the J2 in a number of colours, including white, black, silver and pink. It's not yet known which colour configurations will be made available in Australia, or local pricing.
