Nikon D4 review

This DSLR may be big, but boy is it fast

Great AF system ; Noise control ; Huge ISO range ; Ergonomic body

Complex AF system ; AF points clustered ; Some movement in card bay

The Nikon D4 is the camera that Nikon is hoping will be the camera of choice for professional sports photographers and photo journalists shooting the Olympic games this summer.

Nikon D4

Every so often a top-of -the-range DSLR rears its head with the promise of the ultimate in design, performance and image quality. The Nikon D4 – the DSLR that sits atop the company's DSLR hierarchy – is one such camera. The D4 is a camera to get...

Great image quality, superb autofocus system in all conditions, great design (improvements), excellent movie mode, fast burst mode, long-lasting battery life

Image quality isn’t significantly better than Nikon D3S, pipped by the Canon 1D X in burst shooting speed, more expensive than most will be able to afford, USB 2.0 output (despite use of XQD card)

The D4 is a camera to get excited about. In fact it’s phenomenal and there’s no doubt some of the images that will be seen around the world from this camera will be stunning.

Nikon D4 (Body Only) review

The Nikon D4, the company's update to its D3S pro body, kicks it up a notch in all respects -- higher-resolution sensor, faster continuous-shooting performance, better and more flexible video quality, and a host of attractive new features.

Speed, a gazillion useful features, and excellent high-ISO-sensitivity photos are among the Nikon D4 's standout qualities.

The camera's vertical and horizontal shooting experience could be a little more consistent.

For Nikon devotees looking for the fastest body available, the D4 delivers.

Nikon D4 review

Both the Nikon D3 and D3S were hugely important cameras when released, and for a while they were the pinnacle of professional DSLRs. However, with the resolution of the D3S starting to look a little dated, it was perhaps due an update. The Nikon D4 has...

Nikon D4 DSLR review

If you thought the Nikon D3s was the ultimate DSLR for photojournalism, sport and low light photography, then think again. The Nikon D4 is not only the D3's obvious upgrade and replacement but also Nikon's attempt to redefine, yet again, professional...

Sometimes making a great camera a better one is more difficult than just making a great camera. The D4 fixes every little complaint pro users had over the previous model and adds some unexpected but well-received features. My final take on the D4 is...
