Nikon D3200

With a 24.3MP sensor, Nikon's latest entry-level DSLR is big on resolution but small in size.

Small and easy to use, Excellent image quality, Noise well controlled throughout ISO range, External mic input adds to movie appeal

Guide Mode will only 'guide' you so far, No internal AF motor, Some minor issues with monitor quality

Nikon D3200 review

A great entry-level DSLR with 24.2MP sensor

Excellent guide mode ; 24MP sensor ; Full HD video

Odd colours on LCD screen ; Limited connectivity ; Hard to find new

Nikon has delivered an excellent camera in the Nikon D3200. Its Guide Mode is especially good and very useful for novice photographers.

Nikon AF-S DX VR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED review

Meet the fun-size Nikon

Very compact and lightweight ; Internal focusing so front element neither rotates nor extends ; Impressive optical quality at the long end of the zoom range

Doesn't have the telephoto reach of larger 70-300mm lenses ; Could be sharper at short and medium focal lengths ; Plastic lens mount

Wouldn't it be great to get some serious telephoto zoom reach without filling up most of your gadget bag with a big clunky lens? The Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX VR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED fits the bill with a remarkably compact design, and it's less than half...

Nikon Nikkor AF-S VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED review

There's a reassuring heft to this full-frame telephoto zoom lens

Excellent Vibration Reduction with Active mode ; Ring-type AF-S ultrasonic autofocus with full-time manual override ; Great optical quality throughout most of the zoom range

Sharpness drops off a little at the maximum 300mm focal length ; One of the most expensive telephoto zooms

The biggest attraction of this full-frame zoom lens for the vast majority of us who use APS-C Nikon cameras is that the 1.5x crop factor gives a mighty effective telephoto reach of 450mm at the long end of the zoom range. As such, we have to ask if the...

Nikon D3200 review

Taking pro pictures is now even easier with the new Nikon D3200 entry-level DSLR

Helpful Guide Mode ; Full HD vid with external mic ; Excellent picture quality

Slightly pricey ; Flash can pop up needlessly ; LCD screen could be better

Nikon D3200

The Nikon D3200 set tongues wagging when announced last month. Its headline-grabbing 24-megapixel sensor promised to be unlike anything the entry-level DSLR market had seen before. There are two ways to think about the D3200: as a souped-up D3100 with...

Excellent image quality, Guide mode useful for beginners, Full HD movie capture (plus external mic input), great battery life

LCD too cold/cyan, pricey for an entry-level model, autofocus is the same old system - Sony A65 offers better performance, no autofocus for older non-AF-S lenses, flash too eager to pop up in auto modes when not always necessary

There are two ways to think about the D3200: as a souped-up D3100 with ultra high resolution, great quality images; or as a camera that’s purporting to be entry-level when it’s straddling the mid-level DSLR market.

Joining Nikon's line-up of entry-level cameras is the Nikon D3200. The newcomer to the pack adds to the choices, rather than replacing an existing model.

The D3200 is armed with a 24MP sensor, but the megapixel wars are over, so what else is there to recommend Nikon's new camera? Nikon D3200 – introduction

Nikon D3200 review

The nikon D3200 handles in a very similar way to the less expensive D3100, so the extra money is really paying for the increased pixel count. However, in the long run, such a high resolution will be as likely to frustrate the ‘family' user as give them...

Nikon D3200

The Nikon D3200 is the DSLR has the ability to capture the largest images, at 24mega pixel, the highest definition I have ever reviewed. Just think for a moment one tenth of the image size should be enough to print an A4 image if you use it all.

The Nikon D3200 I am looking at comes with an 18-55mm lens and, , this does come with built in flash. Quite unusually I have been able to use this for a longer than normal test period, sometimes this is because the company need it back to go to another...
