Fujifilm X70

The smaller sibling to the well-received X100T, the X70 fits an APS-C-sized sensor in a pocket-friendly (and stylish) camera that has all the manual control and raw format shooting you've come to expect from Fuji's X series.

Fuji X70

High quality APS-C format sensor and processing engine ; Tilting touch-screen ; Traditional exposure controls

Fixed focal length ; No viewfinder, Limited touch-screen functionality

The X70 offers traditional exposure controls and an APS-C format sensor in compact form, and it delivers images that are every bit as good as those from bigger X-series cameras. It's a little beauty.

Fujifilm X70 review: Wide-angle wonder

Fujifilm is a winner when it comes to high-end compact cameras. So when the company unveiled the X70 at the tail-end of 2015 we were surprised and delighted by the concept: this 28mm f/2.8 (equivalent) fixed-lens camera pools together all that's great...

Exceptional image quality thanks to super-sharp lens and capable sensor combination; great build quality; tilt-angle touchscreen adds further practicality to series

Autofocus not always fastest, can hunt in low-light; fixed-lens won’t suit all, 35/50mm crops not possible in raw; no viewfinder (optional digital accessory only)

With its £549 price point the X70 might sound expensive, but the kind of image quality that can be squeezed out of it makes it worth every penny. Sure, there's no viewfinder, but that's part and parcel of what this pocketable compact is all about. And...

Fujifilm X70 review

A cheap-ish compact camera with hipster appeal

Affordable price ; Sizeable APS-C sensor ; Touch-sensitive display

No zoom ; No viewfinder

All the charm and image quality of the X100T in a smaller and cheaper package - I’m sold

Fujifilm X70 review: For $700, the photos don't get much better than the X70's

It's not for everyone, but certain types of photographers will find it a great camera at the right price.

Great photo quality for the money and a manual-friendly design are the Fujifilm X70's high points.

It has slow autofocus and some annoying controls.

It's not for everyone. But if you're a manual-control freak who views the world at a wide angle and won't miss a viewfinder, the Fujifilm X70 is a great camera.

Fujifilm X70 Full Review

Read our full review of the new compact X70 camera from Fujifilm, with an APS-C CMOS sensor.

Stylish metal body ; Direct manual controls ; High quality tilting 3inch touch-screen ; Excellent image quality ; Impressive f/2.8 Fujinon lens ; Very pleasing colour reproduction ; Excellent noise performance ; MicroUSB charging ; Excellent size

Video button difficult to press - if you have large hands ; Touch screen operation could be improved (to give quicker access to Q menu items) ; Buttons on rear may be awkwardly placed depending on the size of your hands ; ISO range limited (ISO200 -...

The Fujifilm X70 is an ultra-stylish compact camera with a larger APS-C CMOS sensor, and a compact 28mm equivalent f/2.8 lens, which means it gives DSLR image quality, with good noise performance in low light. It also has direct access to shutter and...

Fujifilm X70

The Fujifilm X70 is a solid pocket-friendly compact camera with an SLR-sized image sensor and a tilting touch-screen display.

Pocket-friendly design. Large APS-C image sensor. 7.9fps burst capture. Sharp wide-angle prime lens. Crisp, tilting touch screen. Aperture ring and shutter dial. Hot shoe. Built-in Wi-Fi.

Cramped controls. Some focus struggles. No EVF add-on available. Underwhelming video.

Conclusions If you're a fan of the 28mm field of view, and in search of a pocket camera that can deliver images on par with an SLR, you've got two obvious choices to weigh—the Fujifilm X70 and the Ricoh GR II. Each has its strengths. The X70's tilting...

Fujifilm X70 review: the little camera that can

What if you took one of Fujifilm's best cameras and made it smaller?

Excellent image quality ; Sturdy build ; Great tilting screen

No viewfinder ; Poor touchscreen performance ; Limited video capabilities

Fujifilm X70 Review

The Fujifilm X70 may look like a shrunken X100-series camera with lens specs lifted from a Ricoh GR II, but in practice it handles and shoots very differently than either of those cameras. This is due in no small part to a Fujifilm first: a touchscreen...

The X70 comes along at a funny time. The X-Pro2 has shown us the next steps in Fujifilm tech, and at this point, the X70 seems like a swan song for Fujifilm's venerable 16.3MP sensor. The X100T and X-T1 are still the standout cameras when it comes to a...
