Compact interchangeable lens APS-C sensor incorporating mirrorless camera with a big resolution, inspired by Canon's own EOS 7D DSLR
Compact camera body ; Accessible price point ; Large 32.5MP pixel count ; Swift operation
Requires investment in Canon RF series lenses ; No built-in flash ; Close price point to some full-frame EOR R models
The Canon EOS R7 offers a slightly better build quality and additional features over its near outwardly identical looking sibling in the EOS R10 released alongside it, the biggest difference on paper at least being the larger pixel count of the EOS R7....

The speedy Canon EOS R7 is a fine camera with one weakness
Fast burst shooting ; Great value ; Good handling ; Excellent autofocus and stabilization
Lack of native APS-C lenses ; Average electronic viewfinder ; Lack of 4K/120p video
There’s an awful lot to like about the Canon EOS R7 and it feels like the mid-range camera that a lot of Canon fans have been waiting for. It’s fast, has powerful autofocus that keeps up with a range of subjects, produces excellent images, handles well...

The R7 is Canon's flagship APS-C camera and it's one of the first APS-C cameras to utilise the brand's RF mount. We put it to the test.
Great autofocus and subject recognition ; Capable IBIS system ; Ergonomic design ; Speedy burst shooting ; Good value for money
Very few RF lenses designed for APS-C ; The new rear wheel isn't great ; Slow sensor readout can introduce rolling shutter
The Canon R7 is an extremely capable and well-priced camera but it's let down by its lack of lens options. If Canon releases some more compelling glass for the RF-S system, it'll be much easier to recommend.

A fast-shootin', focus-findin' CSC worth getting excited about? The Canon EOS R7 makes a strong case for APS-C
Rapid autofocus and continuous shooting ; Great APS-C image quality ; Amateur-friendly layout doesn’t skimp out on manual controls
Lens line-up far from extensive ; Rivals offer more expansive video options ; Viewfinder could be sharper
A potent mid-ranger with speed, image quality and handling on its side. It’s still early doors in terms of lenses, but Canon fans will feel right at home.

Given that not everyone needs a full-frame mirrorless camera, the R7 offers a great balance between price and quality. It features a 32.5-megapixel (MP) APS-C CMOS image sensor with Dual Pixel auto-focusing (AF) and five-axis sensor-shift in-body image...
Affordable for its class ; Lightweight and compact size ; Great image quality ; Quick and reliable auto-focusing ; Long battery life
Rear joystick/command dial placement counter-intuitive ; Out-of-the-box dynamic range is lacking ; EVF's resolution can be better

The Canon EOS R7 brings the heat to competing APS-C cameras with its fast and accurate autofocus and flexible video tools, making it a fine choice for photographers and videographers alike.

If you want to start learning and earning as a content creator, the Canon EOS R7 is a great mid-range option
Easy one-handed use ; Lightweight and durable magnesium body ; Dual slot SD ; Competitively priced ; Excellent IBIS ; Fully articulating touch screen
1.6x crop on 4K video footage ; EVF could be improved
The Canon EOS R7 one of the best APS-C mid-tier cameras on the market boasting excellent lightweight build quality with fast autofocus with subject tracking, eye detection, IBIS, and a fully articulating display. . Oh yeah, it also shoots 4K/60 4:2:2...

Canon is back in the APS-C game with the much-anticipated launch of the EOS R7, a very capable prosumer camera with a clear focus on speed. Billed as the mirrorless successor to the much loved EOS 7D Mark II DSLR, does the new R7 have what it takes to...
