Good Deal for the Price

2016 Update. Family member I bought machine for is still using it. Upgraded to windows 10, but X1300 ATI GPU wasn't supported. Swapped it for a 8400 gs that only is only 40w. It still streams HD video and the desktop is even faster and more responsive....

Good speedy computer with plenty of power for basic windows applications. Handles Internet Streaming, HD video on Hulu and Netflix. It can even handle some games on lower settings. It has an X1250 onboard graphics, not to shabby for integrated...

No image drive. Only 1 Meg Memory.

Works as Intended

It works. for the price all i wanted was something that worked for my parents. all they use it for is surfing the internet and occasionally watching videos and this works fine for that.

Doesn't come with an optical drive but for the price you can throw in a $15 one and you are still doing fine. i threw in one I had laying in an old PC.

Bought Two - Good Value

While basic and pretty much a business class machine, they are well built, very quiet and the OS comes preloaded with SP3. I immediately upgraded the RAM, there are 4 slots and 8GB are supported. The core duo is nice considering the price and the fact...

The video card and 80GB drive are the obvious weaknesses along with the lack of a DVD or CD drive. The unit while compact is not small but again for the price @ $99 this was a no brainer.

Great Box

Id buy this again without another thought.

Obviously the duo core 2.3 ghz processor is awesome for this cheap price range ; It's built by lenovo ; It has a year long warranty ; The internals are put together very well (I opened it up) ; It's cheap

1 GB of RAM is too little. A nice upgrade and Im sure this thing will be a great browsing/document editing box... it already is

Good Deal

The 9144 is grouped under the A61 machines. The search on Lenovo's site is for a Thinkcenter 9144A18. The general manual for the A60 has the instructions for removal and installation of components other than memory.

Bought mainly for the XP Pro O/S but all the other features (six USB ports. etc) really make it a nice machine Added two more gig of memory and that really speeded it up. Not a gamer but well worth the money. Comes with an XP recover disk.

Comes with little documentation. Found documentation on Lenovo's website buy it was necessary to download the A60 and A61 manuals in order to get complete information.

Great basic machines

On one I put Win 7 Ultimate 64bit edition, upgraded to 4GB of Ram and it's working great for doing basic office tasks. We use a church management software program and it runs it just fine in addition to MS Office. On the other I installed the 64bit...

Inexpensive (I got 2 of them @ $99 each). Decent processor.

1GB of RAM is a bit paltry these days, but fine for WinXP. At the price, not really much of a con. No optical drive - not really a problem since you can install anything from download or flash drive including the OS.
