Awesome, awesome, awesome

I waited almost a year to write this review so I could see how the server has really performed.

Great price. Easy to setup. Cool temps. I love the little 'air flow' piece that directs air over the cooling block.

I gave it 4 stars because it only accepts DDR2-667 RAM for 1GIG modules. For 2GIG modules one must use DDR2-533.

great server barebones!

I installed Intel Raid manager, and that didn't break anything, driver wise. Also, ALL devices and drivers were already detected/installed after first boot. I was pleasantly surprised.

I've used many supermicro cases in the past. This one is just ad great as the previous ones. The cables were routed perfectly, everything was laid out nice.the included copper heatsink worked great. Temps are low, and the fan control does great...

The disk drive is not a DVD drive. Obviously, server 2008 is a DVD, so I had to connect an external DVD drive for the OS install. that is the only thing I regret about this one. I looked on newegg, and there are a few for about $40-$50 more that do...

Whoa!!

If anyone has any recommended setups to go with on here. It may be a while before I purchase the rest of the parts to complete it. When all that is complete, ill probably run a raid Linux system.

Just received it today. This is my first rackmount server, so im pretty pumped to get it running.

Smells funny... :)

Very Nice System

Very very HIGH VALUE small good runs-cool server. At this price, the CONS list must be taken in stride.

Inexpensive, high build quality, heatsink is over-spec - very good, nice color (black), reliable

Server

I've purchased 12 of the 5015-MF's from Newegg and all have been working perfectly, I just picked up 2 of these and they are working perfectly as well.

Only one problem, and a big one.

Impressive

Superb quality -- Case build, raid trays, I have absolutely no complaints.

I wish you could get this with a DVD burner already installed.

Loud, but handy

This model is great, because all connections except power are front-mounted.

The CPU fans (two sets of 12000 RPM counter-rotating fans) are extraordinarily loud!
