Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 Review

Lenovo's IdeaCentre Q150 works better as a media player than a full-on HTPC, but its reasonable price and put-it-anywhere form factor make it a good candidate for situations where a full-size, full-power PC is impractical or unnecessary.

As a media player, the Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 performs quite well. The unit’s small stature and multiple mounting options make it a solid choice for installation in a location short on space, and its good looks hold up nicely against home theater...

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150

At some point, you know that you've gotten all you're going to get out of a compact PC, and no amount of money you sink into the product will deliver fantastic results. Such is the case with the $350 (as configured, as of September 27, 2010) Lenovo...

Category-leading storage capacity ; Built-in Wireless-N connectivity

Less-than-impressive general performance ; Lacks diversity (and number) of connections

A small frame and low price tag aren't quite enough to help Lenovo's IdeaCentre Q150 pull away from the compact-PC pack.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150

The Q150 comes with Lenovo's Rescue and Recovery software, which makes it easy to reset your system to factory specs. This added feature is useful in case your spouse or children accidentally install malware while trying to view that video file that...

One of the smallest full-featured PCs. Fits behind HDTV or monitor with included bracket. Quiet. Huge 500GB hard drive. Supports full 1080p HD. Lenovo Rescue system. Limited bloatware

Slow performance at content creation tasks. No optical drive. Only 60-day subscription to McAfee Virus Scan. Wireless keyboard and pointing device is optional

The Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 is designed to be dropped on a desk or bolted behind an HDTV. It's one of the best web video/photo/music media consumption devices out there, once you've hooked up to a big screen.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 Review

While ultra-compact nettops have been around for some time now, they're still yet to revolutionize the HTPC market as we were initially promised. Hoping to change all that is Lenovo with their new IdeaCentre Q150 , packing NVIDIA's Ion 2 GPU paired...

Best nettop for light computing

Reviewers say the Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150-40816AU is a top pick among nettops, which are small, inexpensive computers designed for basic tasks. It's not the cheapest nettop, but the IdeaCentre Q150-40816AU has good performance for its size and...

Good multimedia performance, small and compact, integrated Wi-Fi, hDMI output

No optical drive, hard to upgrade after purchase, not suitable for intensive tasks, display and keyboard not included

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 NVIDIA ION nettop review

That said, the built-in hardware on the demo unit Lenovo sent me to review handles HD video, Flash video, and most other multimedia tasks I could throw at it beautifully. The computer also got some of the highest benchmark scores of any netbook or...

Good bang for the buck!

Small, Low Power Draw, good for hiding behind a TV, good bang for the buck

Integrated video not great for viewing at extremely high resolutions

Great Little XBMC box

Don't be confused when you set it up. There's a removable wireless dongle in the battery compartment that plugs into the PC.

This is a tiny beast of a machine. Decent performance and connectivity and an awesome controller. It's the perfect XBMC box

If I had to pick anything it would be a lack of Function keys on the keyboard

Q150

Setting up WOL is quirky, but do-able. (you have to tweak ethernet card settings in device manager).

Small, cheap and relatively powerful. I have 9 of these and they are wonderful

Not all that repairable

These little things are great.

These have been great. I bought one about a year ago, and have bought two more since. I've been using them as register counter PCs. They are bolted on the back of the monitors and really make the front desk look clean ; They aren't blazing quick, but...

One of them didn't ship with the keyboard/mouse combo. Because I'm using this with a regular keyboard and mouse anyway; I didn't really care. Newegg gave me a $25 credit. It was either that or I could return one and get a new one in the box. ehhhh...
