Performance is Decent... if you can stand the noise.

-I bought this unit for use as a mobile lab to test Graphics Virtualization - if that is your intent be aware that there is only one graphics core available, which you'd be able to pass thru anyway... so, not sure what the point is just yet. -Put...

-Form factor and power for the size is great. This is a Co-Work office dream. -Built in Wi-FI worked (didn't test BT as of this writing) -VESA mounting -Intel Graphics work shockingly well for basic content creation and daily use -No lags in...

-The Fan. My lord, the Fan. Your options are to keep it at a constant baseline of going (noisy) or face random speeds of the fan ranging from a going concern to full on fan panic that will make you take your hands off the keyboard and beg forgiveness...

Fast but USB Problems

Small form factor, well built. We use 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD External USB 3.0 Hard Drive

The unit will not boot with ANY Drive over 2TB attached via USB externally, it simply hangs at the POST screen. It works with a 2TB drive but with a 3TB WD or 4TB Seagate, it simply hangs at the POST screen. This is unacceptable.

Great Machine for small footprint

I've had this machine for over a month and its running great. Running a 250GB M-sata and a 500GB Sata2 drive. 16GB RAM. I put CentOS 7 on this box. Now i know this isn't a typical desktop setup, but its what i use for work mostly so i decided to try...

Great Performance. Good Build Quality Easy Setup Price point.

No WIFI drivers for RHE/CentOS Fan Noise. This machine isn't used for gaming but i wanted to see what kind of performance the Iris Pro would have. I fired up some older games like Team Fortress 2. Runs fine but the fan did kick up to high and it was...

Small and Powerful

This is my second Brix and I like it for being quiet and fast. Easy to set up and with Windows10 on a thumb drive it only took about 25 minutes to install.

The Little Brix That Can

Don't let the size mislead you. The unit has no problem driving my Asus PB279Q display at it's max 3840 x 2160 4k resolution through the miniDP port in addition to a secondary 21" monitor through the HDMI. I added 16GB of GSkill DDR3-l 1866 memory, a...

Perfect

Very small formfactor and powerful as a big PC. Runs a little hot sometimes and fan gets noisy, but its understandable.

Fan Question

One guy on here said he placed the MB inside a new box with a better fan and it reduces the noise level significantly. Can anyone PM me a proper small case/housing with optimal cooling system in order to make this build? Trying to make music with this...

A big computer in a little box

System runs great after I repackaged the MB in a new box with a better fan. Runs so quiet now I sometimes wonder if it is still running or powered on. I will have to do this with my other 5 BRIX units too.

Small Form Factor Fast Computing Speed Ease of configuration Build options Quality

Fan is a little noisy when running at peak. Fan not large enough to keep system cool under heavy loads. Heat buildup can corrupt data on MSata drives. USB 3 ports drop/disconnect external USB 2 drives when using some USB keyboards and mice(USB powered...

Good for Hackintosh

Was easy to build a Hackintosh OSX Yosemite running on this, the only problem is the Audio is unsupported and requires some extra hacking to work and the HDMI audio is also difficult under OSX. Aside from these issues I have a much faster and higher...

Easy to configure, powerful cpu, and performance.

Heatsink fan noisy, bad audio ALC269 chip that nobody uses, could use a quieter fan. More USB ports.

Fast and small, but noisy.

This is great if you need something small with a lot of CPU horsepower, but can also hide it in a basement somewhere...

Fast. I'm using this machine as a Plex transcode box. Depending on the content the transcode speed has been up to 25 X, which is great. Small. It's coffee mug size.

Loud. In normal usage, it's fine, but the second that you start to tax the CPU you hear the tiny fan spin up to VERY audible levels. This thing sits inside of my media cabinet, which may not have the best ventilation, but even when moved outside it's...
