Nice little box

When I bought three years ago wanted HTPC for use with Silicon Dust Prime. Hard disk recently croaked so I will replace that and this will become my son's for light use. Overall it was a good buy and easily paid for itself by not having to rent a junk...

Small, low power, mounts for TV.

Runs hot.

Nice at first

Overall, I got a good year out of the unit. Was it worth the price? No. Would have rather just put money into something that would have lasted at least 2-3 years and played HD video consistently.

Great size, features, low noise level for the price. Makes a decent low end HTPC.

Does not consistently play HD content from a HomeRun Price tuner. Some channels fine, others not. After 1.5 years, fan starting emitting terrible sound. Bad bearing perhaps. Now, when turning on tv, often the screen is multicolored and unusable. Have...

Great Deal

Great Price. Still going strong.

Works great for me.

I've been using this little beauty to run a full server for the past 8 months or so. It does conversion on the fly for all my 720p videos for Plex with no problem, abut 60% usage. Runs at a consistent 60deg Celsius but it doesn't appear to affect the...

Great price, very capable little machine. Fits in a small space.

Had to fiddle with drivers in Ubuntu. A lot. Also the USB3 slots still give USB2.0 speeds, but that's probably just because I got sick and tired of fiddling with the dang ol' drivers.

weak wireless, not bad otherwise

Using Windows Vista 64 bit

It will play 'HD' netflix movies on a 21" monitor @ via DVI, but it cannot do the same via HDMI to an HD TV without stuttering. Need to reduce the screen resolution then it works reasonably ok (but some detail is lost). Pretty good as normal activities...

The wireless is unreliable for the 'n' speed but reliable for 'g' speed. The 'n' speed drops off occasionally even when the router is 20 feet away and on the same floor.

POST Problems & Cheap Construction

The price is similar to other competing products, but this product is more cheaply constructed (cheap plastic). My biggest problem was that it didn't POST or bootup correctly. The power light was lit, but there was no monitor or keyboard (num lock...

Undecided, I like it.. BUT..

I really want to like this thing. But so far, it's been a pain, hopefully I can work out the kinks and when I do, I'll try to share them, if anyone has had similar issues and found fixes for them, please post them up here.

Size. Smaller than the Novel War and Peace. Cost. Dual Core, Full 1080 HDMI output, USB 3 support for less than $200? No brainer.

Numerous. Heat. This thing gets very warm. Could use a bit more vents cut into the case to help it breath a bit better. Linux/Ubuntu/Xbmc/Xbmcbuntu support is not ready for primetime. Could not load openELEC at all. Loaded Xbmcbunu and I kept getting...

Hotter than Hell

I decided to cut slots into the top of the case above the APU fan for ventilation with a Dremel and dropped temps down to 40- 60 degrees Celsius.

This thing is TINY! I am using it as a HTPC in my living room and you can barely notice it setting under the TV. Great audio/video for a device that is so small. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, 4gb of RAM. Every thing runs smoothly.

Only things that run slow are Youtube and Windows Update. As others have said, this thing runs HOT! From running Speedfan, I got temps of over 80 degrees Celsius just by installing updates from Windows Update.

Great for XBMC

Great, compact machine for XBMC. Will play videos in 1080p and 720p. I couldn't get the latest XBMCbuntu 12 RC3 to work, as the video was choppy. However, I had an old copy of xbmc-10.0-live-amd.iso which worked great.

Had to buy a remote and memory separately, but really it's not a big deal.

decent for light use

What I did: Installed 60GB SATA III SSD & 8GB 1333 DDR3 (although Newegg states 4GB max, Foxconnchannel states 8GB, both agree 1066 but 1333 works fine) Updated BIOS from P08 to P10 (download from Foxconnsupport) with FreeDOS on USB flash drive In BIOS...
