Dell XPS 720 power PC

The Dell XPS 720 is one powerful system.

If money is no object, you may find more appeal in Dell's XPS 720 H2C (in which liquid cooling and a QX6800 CPU overclocked to 3.46GHz are standard), but for us, the Dell XPS 720 PC is an enviable gaming beast in its own right.

Review: Dell XPS 720 H2C desktop computer

The price is high, but this is one of the fastest PCs we've seen

Dell XPS 720

Dell's XPS 720 is aimed primarily at gamers who don't mind having the world's biggest PC in their room. While its configuration can be tailored to sui...

Great for gaming, fast hard drive performance

The case is too big and too fussy on the inside, the CPU speed options in the BIOS are locked, no eSATA ports, doesn't support a high-end SLI configuration

The Dell XPS 720 is a little hard to judge. One can't help but admire the effort Dell has put into its design and construction, yet by the same token, its a little awkward and the construction is excessive. It sure does look good though, so if you're...

Dell XPS 720 H2C (Blu-ray)

With the XPS 720 H2C (Blu-ray)—the leaning tower of PC gaming—Dell's 700 series continues on course.

Speedy gaming rig. New window opens internals to view. Ageia PhysX card. Quiet. Optional 15-month Internet Security subscription. Beefy graphics card protection.

Nonstandard power supply and cord. No reset switch or hard power switch. Heavy. Pricey.

Dell Dell XPS 720

The Dell XPS 720 is one powerful system. With the Core 2 Extreme QX6800, Intel's latest quad-core processor (overclocked by Dell to 3.2 GHz and supported under the computer's one-year warranty), plus 2GB of speedy Corsair 1066-MHz DDR2 memory, the PC...

Chassis has a sturdy design ; Good amount of expansion room

Side panel can be tricky to remove

This well-designed and overclocked PC has plenty of performance and expandability for gamers who can afford it.

Dell XPS 720 H2C

Dell pulls out most of the stops with the XPS 720 H2C gaming rig, including liquid cooling, GeForce 8800 Ultra SLI, Corsair EPP memory, and Ageia PhysX. It's the best gaming system we've ever seen from Dell—at over $7000, it better be.

Fast. Quiet. Shipped overclocked.

Really expensive.

Dell XPS 720 H2C

Boom. Boom. Boom. The 800-pound gorilla has arrived. Dell's latest XPS system, the 720 H2C, packs some serious power and plenty of extras, but its balls-to-the-wall approach doesn't completely overshadow its proprietary roots.

Blazing-fast media and gaming performance. Looks good

Damn you, proprietary systems! And PhysX? Really

Overall, the XPS 720 H2C marks the first Dell we’ve seen in a while that can stand toe-to-toe with the baddest machines in the business. Its lightning-fast multimedia performance and sick gaming frame rates make it a good choice for gamers and media...

Dell's XPS 720 H2C Hot and Cool

Overclocking, liquid cooling, and gaming - from Dell? We check out the company's highest-end system to see how the PC giant differentiates itself from... itself.

Almost Better than My Custom $10k+ Rig

Case is Large! Make sure it will fit under your desk. I wish you could buy this case separately, or maybe Dell could team up with one of the case manufacturers to sell a similarly designed case.

Case is awesome. Great layout and expansion options. Good thermal management. Speed is good enough for me with the q6600. (work computer) Very quiet. Running XP x64 with no issues and Wow it is fast.

The memory seems slow. 5.3 in vista performance index. Same ram (ddr2 667) in my home rig maxes out at 5.9... Might be Intel vs. AMD memory controller. Sound card onboard is not very good... Has background noise. Get the add in card.
