The XPS 18 won't make you compromise between a tablet to consume media and an all-in-one PC to create content. However, convenience can have a high price tag.

Dell XPS 18 takes the tabletop tablet lead

 

This 18-inch tablet doubles as a decent all-in-one, but you'll pay a premium for the flexibility.

The ; combines an all-in-one PC with a lightweight 18-inch tablet, making it a flexible system for at-home entertainment and productivity.

You're paying a premium for a relatively small screen. Less expensive configurations cut too many corners to be a good deal.

It's the best of the small handful of current tablet/all-in-one hybrids, with a subtle, sophisticated design and good battery life, but this new genre is still in its early days.

The Dell XPS 18 falls somewhere between a large-screen ultrabook and a dedicated all-in-one desktop PC.

Portable around the house. Huge screen for a portable. Thinner and lighter than previous portable all in ones. Ultrabook performance in a tablet form factor. Wi-Di compatible. 12 month subscription to McAfee Security.
