First Look Review: Dell Precision 380 Workstation

System delivers solid performance and expandability at a good price

This system capably drove the Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP 30" LCD monitor that was reviewed recently in Cadalyst Daily. Keep in mind that discounts are often available on select Dell displays if you purchase one at the same time you buy a Dell workstation....

Dell Precision 380 Workstation

What's the ideal workstation? If you run heavy duty, video editingprograms (especially if you edit HD video or use processor-intensiveplug-ins) or if you render complex 3D animations, you'll need all thehardware you can get. Your ideal workstation...

Cleanest refurb Dell I've ever bought.

Purchased for $77, you will never get a better price/performance ratio in a desktop.

Received package on time, with AC cable, keyboard, mouse, simple instructions for first time use and activation, and of course, the desktop without any scratches or dings.

None so far.

Happy with it.

If you need a PC that's not totally busted and runs well, I would say go for it.

It is what I needed for current project.

Hot glued corners? - Might be a factory thing? Windows would boot to the OS selection screen every time, Easy fix.

Can't beat it!

For certain if you need an upgrade to an old computer, especially if you don't have an upgrade able version of Windows on a computer that will handle it.

Cheap way to get into Windows 10 !

No wireless capability.

Great Deal

It arrived with a broken hard drive, but the company sent a new hard drive that I swapped out myself. I wanted to hook up my old hard drive as a secondary drive, but there are only enough power cables for the primary hard drive and the DVD drive. I...

It is cheap and I like Windows 7. Cool looking mouse. Easiest to open computer I've owned (no screws).

Needs more RAM! Lots of updates to install. The BIOS is not up to date (but this is not critical). Customer support is a long wait, but they are helpful.

This is my 3rd Refurb purchase from AST. All 3 have been stellar. Great little machines for non power users. I bought one for my Dad 2 yrs ago for his

Great computers for basic users.

Clean Windows 7 install Free upgrade to 8.1/10 Barely any bloatware installed, just some office apps and some anti malware program which I uninstalled and installed Malwarebytes free instead. Very clean. Excellent condition. Very quiet. 1yr warranty.

Only goes up to 1600x1200 resolution which was very disappointing cause the last one I bought which was slower and had half the ram, must have had a better chipset cause it ran 1680x1050. Guess I have to live with the stretched screen. Does not come...

Good for the Price

Not the first time I have had issues with Joy Systems. Newegg's Premier membership makes shipping and RMA's much easier.

Good small desktop. Good for standard office work. Not for the power user. They finally did a small upgrade to the quality of keyboard and mouse. They are still among the cheapest keyboard and mouse on earth, but now are large enough for an adults hand.

First machine had issues sent back, received the second machine with a bad DVD drive, just replaced it my self vs. going through another RMA.
