Apple redefines what a desktop PC can look and sound like
Outstanding performance ; Incredible design ; Very cool, quiet and stable ; Good connectivity options ; Real time 4K video editing in Final Cut Pro
No HiDPI mode for 4K monitors yet ; Software support still to catch-up ; Future upgradability still unknown
Finally, inside there's Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi wireless cards as you'd no doubt expect at this price. There's a combined optical/analog line out for audio, and a separate headphone jack. There's also a built-in speaker, which is a...

With a unique design and tremendous power, this is the workstation to beat
Stellar design ; Lots of expansion ports ; Twin GPUs ; Incredible performance ; Removable SSD
Few internal expansion possibilities ; No bundled keyboard or mouse ; No two-processor option ; No optical drive
Not everyone needs the workstation-level power and performance offered by the new Mac Pro, but wouldn't you just love one? It's a masterpiece of engineering and suitably expensive. Fresh ideas such as the unified thermal core and backlit expansion...

Stunning ; iconic looks ; Immensely fast and powerful ; Very quiet
Brutally expensive ; No physical media drives ; Needs more optimised software

Following the launch of the Mac Pro in June we've now seen the desktop computer in the flesh, not behind glass at the Apple 22 October event. The Mac Pro

Apple's new Mac Pro is a stunningly fresh take on the desktop computer. But it's probably not for you.
The Mac Pro 's hardware is incredibly powerful, especially if you're using it for pro-level graphics and video tasks. It can output to up to three 4K displays simultaneously, thanks to six Thunderbolt 2 ports plus HDMI. The system is whisper-quiet,...
Internal expandability is limited, and even the starting price is a hefty $3,000. While it's a very high-design product, the components inside are intended for professional use, and not especially suitable for Apple-loving home consumers.
Apple radically re-imagines the professional desktop with the new Mac Pro, featuring a design that looks fantastic and offers genuine breakthrough advantages. But, consumer-level Apple enthusiasts should note that this product isn't specifically...

The new Mac Pro is a true workstation-class computer designed to shave minutes and hours off heavy load computational projects. And it looks great. Here's our Mac Pro Six-Core/3.5GHz (late 2013) review.

Apple's new Mac Pro goes beyond being a statement product, it actually heralds a brave new age for desktop computers and unapologetically pushes the industry forward by using very new standards and cutting edge technologies to seamlessly enable an...
Professionals whose livelihood depends on getting their work done faster won't bat an eyelash, this is the desktop they've long been waiting for.

Every so often Apple's design department puts together a piece of kit so incredible to look at, that it becomes an instant classic. The latest addition to this design hall of fame is, without a doubt, the new Mac Pro.
The new Mac Pro acts as a bit of a reminder as to what Apple is truly capable of. By going back to the design drawing board, it has created something so drastically different from the norm, that we can't help but be impressed.

Packing a Xeon quad-core processor, dual AMD FirePro graphics cards and a superfast PCIe SSD, can IT Pro tame this beast?
Xeon power & AMD dual-graphics; Designed for use with 4K; Beautifully crafted inside & out; Quiet; Portable; Upgradeable
Expensive; Cables can get cluttered; No accessories included
If the Mac Pro was a sentient being, it would live by the mantra: Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re in the business of creating high-def multimedia or analysing large volumes of data you’ll struggle to find a better...

Compact and quiet, despite a huge helping of horsepower, the Mac Pro's revolutionary design is set to turn the workstation market on its head
The Mac Pro is a hugely impressive hardware, of that there is no doubt. It isn't unique in offering this level of power, but to do so in such a compact and efficient package is a truly impressive feat of engineering. To our knowledge, there isn't any...
