Apple's Mac mini is desirabilty and affordabilty in a small white and silver box. But does Apple's cheapest ever Mac have what it takes to reel in PC users?
If you're cool on Macs, the mini will start to warm you to them, but for those already tempted, we heartily recommend it. If the PC user is a Neanderthal and the Mac user the evolved sophisticate, the Switcher Man, hovering between them, is the missing...

Looks gorgeous, but is it any use to the photographer?
Great for editing
A bit underpowered
While you can get a PC with screen and keyboard for this money, it's unlikely to have the build quality and sheer style of the Mac Mini.

As a home computer for the keen digital photographer, the Mac Mini ishard to fault, and it certainly falls into the 'accessory' category at this price (less than a top-flight compact camera)

Apple's biggest battle has been persuading Windows users to switch to Macs. Its masterplan, under Steve Jobs, has been to create killer software, then spread the word with beautifully designed hardware. Yet, despite building iMacs, Powerbooks, iBooks...

We expected to see faster performance from the Apple Mac mini (Mid 2010) now it's finally received the Intel Core-series upgrade. We just weren't prepared for these lab results.
Significant speed improvement ; Larger hard drives ; Bluetooth 4.0 ; Lower price
Nothing significant
We’re always looking for a true contender to take on the Apple Mac mini as the perfect discreet desktop PC, or as a stylish, compact and quiet media centre PC for the lounge. There are still no true rivals, and the latest slew of performance updates...

Mac OS desktop with 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo chip, Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics card, 1-2GB RAM and 120-320GB hard drive. Five USB ports come unadorned with mouse, keyboard, monitor, webcam or speakers. Draft-n Wi-FI and Bluetooth. iLife 09 software....
Flat-sharing urban professionals and well-heeled young parents will adore the Mini’s stripped down style and plug-and-play simplicity. Anyone else might decide to sacrifice some design kudos and enjoy a cheaper, more powerful Windows system instead...

Less than a year ago, the mini was beginning to look like the unloved runt of the Mac litter. It had changed precious little, save for the switch from PowerPC to Intel processors, since its introduction in 2005. With two significant updates in less...
While we're pleased that the mini continues to thrive in the desktop Mac line-up, we're disappointed with this update. It compares poorly with the £649, 2.53GHz model in the last line-up, and for £200 more you could have a portable version of almost...

It's no secret that Windows is a high-maintenance OS. New threats hit the Internet daily, and connected Windows PCs need constant patching to protect ...
Stylish design, small footprint
Hard to upgrade
If you're after a simple, flexible machine for productivity or browsing the Internet, Apple's budget PC-killer is a great choice.
