Acer Revo Build M1-601

It's "Project Ara for PCs" is how the Acer Revo Build is talked about. Here we have a mini PC with a footprint of just 125 x 125mm that can be expanded using magnetic 'blocks' that clip on top of one another. So far, so clever.

What you're looking at is not a retro hi-fi, nor a bento box as Acer CEO Jason Chen likened the new Acer Revo Build to when introducing it on stage at the company's IFA press conference in Berlin.

Nice small size, Win10 installs easily and runs ok'ish with the 2gb ram, upgrading the ram is easy, takes normal and low volt memory.

SSD is surface mounted on systemboard, no Sata port to be able to upgrade the SDD/Drive, only 3x USB ports, not that fast overal but ok for a media player.

Small footprint, aesthtically pleasing

I bought 3 of these as we have been successfully using a previous version, the Aspire Revo powering a terminal at a branch for some 6 years, running Opensuse Linux 13.1 with no problems. We also have 2 similar Gigabyte machines running Opensuse linux....

Not at this price. There are better machines this size but at higher cost.
